    About leela palace
    • The leela palace was founded by late captain C.P. Krishnan Nair who is the
    founder and chairman of the Leela Group. The hotel is named after his wife
    Leela Nair who is the daughter of the industrialist A.K Nair.  
    • He established hotel leelaventure ltd. in 1983, he began construction of a
    hotel in sahar on 4-acre plot of land that he owned, and an additional 6.5
    acres that he leased in Mumbai.
    • The first leela hotel opened in mumbai in 1986. this was followed by the
    Leela goa, the Leela palace in bangalore, and the Leela beach resort in
    thiruvananthapuram. He was awarded Padma Bhushan Award by the
    government of India in 2010.
