IN JODHPUR ,RAJASTHAN.
NEED FOR THE STUDY
The knowledge of nursing students regarding antenatal care and their compliance to it is
of paramount importance in preventing maternal and infant mortality rate and morbidity.
The Indian society is made of large number of socio± culturally diverse groups. Their
views of antenatal care and the health care system in general, may be different. The
disparity of their knowledge and practice has to be assessed for improving the delivery
of such services to these groups
The essential maternal health care services during pregnancy included antenatal care,
skilled care at delivery and postpartum care and these are necessary to promote good
health. Antenatal care is the care received during pregnancy from skilled health personnel
such as the goal oriented model recommended by the WHO which include 4-5 visits for
pregnant women who are not having medical problems. Antenatal care utilization (65%) in
the developing countries is low when compared to that of the developed countries which is
97%. Skilled attendance at delivery is 53% in developing countries while it is 99% in the
developed countries and postpartum care utilization is 30% compared to 90% in developed
countries5. In Nigeria antenatal care utilization is reported to be 63%.
OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY
.
1.To assess the pre-test level of knowledge regarding antenatal care among Nursing
students.
2.To implement the structured teaching Programme regarding Antenatal care among nursing
students
2.To assess the post-test level of knowledge before and after structured teaching programe
among nursing students.
3.To test the association between post test knowledge score selected background factors
among nursing students

• Nursing assessment is the first and important step in nursing process that plays vital aspects in dealing with the patient health assessment. The assessment
includes an interview together with an observation of a patient throughout the assessment implementation, medical practices are required Nursing
assessment includes emotional and mental assessment, physical, environmental and social issues that affects the patient health . Clear accurate and
accessible documentation is an essential documentation. Clear accurate and accessible documentation is an essential element of safe, quality, evidence
based nursing practice. Nurses practice across settings of position levels from the bedside to the administrative office. The registered nurse and the
advanced practice registered nurse are responsible and accountable for the nursing documentation that is used throughout an organization.
OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
1) To assess the knowledge of the staff nurses towards nursing initial assessment at
selected hospital in Jodhpur
2) To assess the practice of staff nurses towards nursing initial assessment at selected
hospital in Jodhpur.
3) To find the correlation between knowledge and practice of staff nurses towards nursing
initial assessment in selected hospital at Jodhpur.
4) To find the association between the knowledge with selected demographic variables
5) To find the association between the practice with selected demographic variables.

EFFECTIVENESS OF
STRUCTURED TEACHING
PROGRAMME ON KNOWLEDGE
AND ATTITUDE REGARDING
CORD BLOOD STEM CELL
THERAPY AMONG STAFF NURSES
AT SELECTED HOSPITAL IN
JODHPUR, RAJASTHAN.
NEED FOR THE STUDY
• This study aimed to assess the level of stem cell knowledge, attitude toward
stem cell application in medicine.Now-a-days prenatal mothers may have
inadequate knowledge and attitude regarding Cord blood stem cell
therapy.Umbilical cord blood supplies are not sufficient to meet the high
transfusion needs. This study was designed to determine opinion about
preservation of umbilical cord blood, identify the reasons for the lack of
motivation to donate umbilical cord blood and allow experts to establish
better recruitment campaigns to enrich the donor pool.
• Cerebral palsy, a condition where the brain is unable to control the muscles of the body, impacts
as many as 10,000 newborns each, according to the Center for Disease Control (CDC). An
experimental procedure at Duke University in North Carolina is being used with great success to
treat this condition. Children with cerebral palsy are being infused with their own cord blood
stem cells to heal and repair damaged brain tissue.
•
• Clearly, stem cell use is exciting and holds great promise for treating and curing many diseases
in the future. Their importance ranges from an understanding of the principles behind human
development to the cell based therapies addressing those aspects that go away during
development and lead to treating a disease.
OBJECTIVES
1. To assess the pre test knowledge and attitude regarding cord blood stem cell therapy among
staff nurses
2. .To assess the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on cord blood stem cell
therapy amon staff nurses
3. To correlate knowledge and attitude regarding cord blood stem cell therapy among staff
nurses
4. To find the association between post test knowledge and attitude regarding stem cell therapy
among staff nurses with their selected demographic variables such as Age ,Religion,
Gravida, Education, Previous source on cord blood stem cell therapy.

A STUDY TO ASSESS THE
EFFECTIVENESS OF
STRUCTURED TEACHING
PROGRAMME ON KNOWLEDGE
REGARDING POLYCYSTIC
OVARIAN SYNDROME AMONG
ADOLESCENT GIRLS AT
SELECTED COLLEGE IN
JODHPUR, RAJASTHAN.
NEED FOR THE STUDY
Adolescents form a large section of population of India, about 22.5%. Adolescent girls have
to be focused more as it is a period of rapid physical growth, sexual, physiological, and
psychological changes. Habits and behaviour picked upduring adolescence have life long
impact.
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is common health problem which increase among adolescent
girls and young women during their reproductive years. It is a problem in which a woman’s
hormones are out of balance leading to menstrual disturbance as well as multiple abnormal
cysts in enlarged ovaries, so they do not produce the normal number of eggs and normal
ovulation which leads to difficulty of getting pregnant. If it is not treated over time, it can lead
to serious health problems such as diabetes and heart disease.
OBJECTIVES
•
1. To assess the level of knowledge regarding Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome among
adolescent girls.
2. To implement structured teaching Programme regarding Polycystic Ovarian
Syndrome.
3. To determine the effectiveness of structured teaching Programme on the level of
knowledge regarding Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome among adolescent girls.
4. To find out association between post test level of knowledge regarding Polycystic
Ovarian Syndrome among adolescent girls and their selected demographic variables.

A DESCRIPTIVE STUDY TO ASSESS
THE KNOWLEDGE AND PRACTICE
•
TOWARDS MANAGEMENT OF
POSTPARTUM HEMORRHAGE AMONG
FINAL YEAR B.SC NURSING
STUDENTS AT SELECTED COLLEGE IN
JODHPUR , RAJASTHAN.
NEED FOR THE STUDY
• According to WHO, PPH is the leading cause of maternal mortality in the low-
income countries and the primary cause of nearly one quarter of all maternal
death globally. Postpartum hemorrhage can be massive, means blood loss
greater than 1000 ml.
•
Maternal deaths due to PPH have increased in many countries due to the
factors such as maternal age, caesarean section and multiple pregnancies.
There are two types of PPH namely: primary PPH that means a bleeding that
occur within 24 hours after birth while secondary PPH means a bleeding that
occur from 24 hours up to 12 weeks after birth.
• Many organizations such as WHO, International confederation of midwives and
American college of obstetrician helped in managing PPH by releasing guidelines
to help people. Postpartum hemorrhage in Africa have been linked to poor quality
of care and weak health systems such as failure to treat anemia during antenatal
care (ANC), delays in care due to poor hospital transfer and inadequate training of
staffs in obstetrics emergencies.
OBJECTIVES
1.To assess the knowledge on postpartum haemorrhage among final year B.Sc. Nursing
students at selected nursing college.
2.To assess the practice level of postpartum haemorrhage among final year B.Sc. Nursing
students at selected nursing college.
3.To associate the knowledge and level of practice with selected demographic variables.
