Fares
IRCTC is charging Rs. 1,23,900 per couple for
AC first-class tickets for the complete tour.
This fare is applied for couples with 50% off. 
• Similarly, tickets for AC two-tier per couple is
Rs. 1,01,430 under 50% off.
• IRCTC said that these tour packages can also
be booked under the Leave Travel Concession
(LTC) policy.
Buddhist Circuit Special Train - Route

• The Buddhist Circuit Special train will travel for 8 days and 7 nights. Its
all-inclusive package will include lodging in luxury hotels, transport,
air conditioner buses in various places and tour guides of different
languages along with rail travel. The train will travel to places
associated with Buddha such as Lumbini, the Buddha’s birthplace,
Bodh Gaya where he attained enlightenment, Sarnath – where he
gave his first sermon and Kushinagar where he attained nirvana.

people. It will have special chairs for passengers to enjoy the tour.
• There will be a reading light inside every compartment, along with an electronic locker for
every passenger.
• The tour package will also include entrance fee of all monuments.
• Coaches will have a small library; also, machines for massaging the feet will also be there.
• This train will have bio-toilet. The interior has been decorated with the best colour
scheme.
• This train will have two dining cars, one kitchen car, one staff car and two power cars

Bodhgaya

Located in Bihar, this is the place where Prince Siddhartha iuunu cnguse
under the Bodhi Tree. After medtating for 49 days, he became Lord Buddha, the
Enlightened One. In Bodhgaya, the important tourist attractions are Bodhi Tree,
Mahabodhi Temple, Vajrasana Throne donated by King Ashoka, Muchalinda
Lake, Animesh Lochan Chaitya, some other holy trees like Ratnachankramana,
Ratnagaraha, Ajapala Nigrodha and Rajyatna. It also has a number of
Nalanda /rajgir

Rajgir, about 70 km from Bodhgaya, was the Lord's monsoon retreat for
12 years. WhileNeHe preached about the Precepts ot Lotus Sutra and
thePerfection of Wisdom Sutra The location was Gridhakuta Hill in
Rajgir. The firstBuddhist council was held at the Saptapami Caves on
Vaibhar Hill n Rajgir. Theteachings of Buddha were compiled after his
death and preached in the council.

Sarnath

This is the place where Lord Buddha gave his first semon. This was
given after he achieved enlighterment. Sarnath is about 10 km from the
holy city of Varanasi. It was at Samath that Buddha established his
sangha or first disciples to promote his new doctrine. The proud symbol
of India, the famous lion capital pillar or the Ashoka pillar was erected
by King Ashoka originally at Dhamekh Stupa in Samath. You also can see

Lumbini

Situated in the Rupandehi district of Nepal, Lumbini is the place


where Lord Buddha was born. Today, it is an important Buddhist
pilgrimage site. Being a neighbour country, Lumbini is also
sometimes included in the Buddhist Circuit in India By tour

Kushinagar

This place is located in the Gorakhpur district in eastern Uttar Pradesh, India.
It is en route to Kapilavastu, the place where Lord Buddha fell ll and died in
543 BC. It is said that the mortal remains of Lord Buddha were distributed by
King Ashoka into more than 80,000 stupas across his kingdom and outside.
Important places to see here are Mukatanabandhana Stupa and the reclining
Buddha statue in red sandstone. Other attractions are Wat Thai Temple,
Chinese Temple, Japanese Temple, Mahaninvana Temple, etc. This is the

Shravast was Buddha’s favourite rainy season retreat. It was located about
150 km from Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh and it was at this place Buddha
performed his first miracle.
