OBJECTIVES
■ Four basic objectives are set out in the SIDBI charter. They are

for orderly growth of industry in the small scale sector. The
charter has provided SIDBI considerable flexibility in adapting
appropriate stratergies to meet these objectives.
■ To provide refinance facilities and short term lending to
industries.
■ To coordinates the functions of institution engaged in similar
activities
■ Its promotion and developmental program focuses on rural
enterprises promotion and enterprenuership development.
■ They play a salutory role in financial market through credit
extension and refinancing operation activities and cater to the
long term financing needs of the industrial sector.
■ SIDBI supports the government of India in its initiatives and
work as a nodal agency for some of the schemes related to the
development of the MSME, such as MAKE IN INDIA and
STARTUP INDIA.

■Business domain of SIDBI contribute significantly to the
national economy in terms of production, employment and
exports with vast network of around 3 crore units, creating
employment of about 7 crores,manufacturing more than
6,000 products, contributing about 45% to manufacturing
output and about 40% of export.
■SIDBI also functions as a Nodal/Implementing Agency to
various ministries of government of Indis viz., Ministry of
MSME,Ministry of Textiles,Ministry of Commerce and
Industry, Ministry of Food processing and Industry.

SIDBI RECENT ACHIVEMENTS
■ SIDBI retained its position in the top 30 Development Banks of the world
in the latest ranking of The Banker,London. SIDBI ranked 25 th both in the
terms of Capital and Assets, Credit
■ During the year 2002-03 the aggregrate sanction amounted to 10,904 crore
and 6,789 crore respectively. SIDBI has been permitted to raise finances up
to 2,730 crore the year onward by THE RESERVE BANK OF INDIA.
■ ADFIAP Award 2012 under the category of environmental Development
particularly for CNG Taxi Financing Scheme, CNG Auto Rickshaw
Financing Scheme and Energy Lines od Credit.
■ SIDBI, the only Indian Institutional member of IDFC proposed Global
Climate fund of UN, using IDFC platform in India.
