Array Functions

The document describes several PHP array functions including: 1) array_combine() which creates an array using keys from one array and values from another array. 2) array_chunk() which splits an array into chunks of new arrays of a specified size. 3) array_count_values() which counts the number of occurrences of values in an array. 4) Additional functions described are array_diff(), array_flip(), array_intersect(), array_merge(), array_pop(), array_push(), array_reverse(), array_search(), array_slice(), and array_column(). Examples are provided to demonstrate the usage of each function.

?>
OUTPUT:
Array ( [Block 33] => 1 [Block 34] => 2 [Block 36] => 2 )
array_diff()
• The array_diff() function compares the values of two (or
more) arrays, and returns the differences.

• This function compares the values of two (or more)

arrays, and return an array that contains the entries from
array1 that are not present in array2 or array3, etc.

• array_diff(array1, array2, array3, ...)

array_diff()

w");
$a2=array("e"=>"red","f"=>"green","g"=>"blue");
$a3=array("h"=>"magenta","i"=>"seagreen");
$result=array_diff($a1,$a2);
print_r($result);
?>

OUTPUT:
Array ( [d] => yellow )
array_flip()
• The array_flip() function flips/exchanges all keys with their
associated values in an array.
• array_flip(array)

<?php
$a1=array("a"=>"red","b"=>"green","c"=>"blue","d"=>"yellow"
);
$result=array_flip($a1);
print_r($result);
?>
OUTPUT:
Array ( [red] => a [green] => b [blue] => c [yellow] => d )
array_flip()
<?php
$a1=array("red","green","blue","yellow");
$result=array_flip($a1);
print_r($result);
?>

OUTPUT:
Array ( [red] => 0 [green] => 1 [blue] => 2 [yellow] => 3 )
array_intersect()
• The array_intersect() function compares the values of two (or more)
arrays, and returns the matches.
• array_intersect(array1, array2, array3, ...)

<?php
$a1=array("a"=>"red","b"=>"green","c"=>"blue","d"=>"yellow");
$a2=array("e"=>"red","f"=>"green","g"=>"blue");
$a3=array("red","blue");
$result=array_intersect($a1,$a2,$a3);
print_r($result);
?>

OUTPUT:
Array ( [a] => red [c] => blue )
array_merge()
• The array_merge() function merges one or more arrays into
one array.
• array_merge(array1, array2, array3, ...)

<?php
$a1=array("a"=>"red","b"=>"green");
$a2=array("c"=>"blue","b"=>"yellow");
$a3=array("c"=>"orange","b"=>"magenta");
print_r(array_merge($a1,$a2,$a3));
?>
