    What is Sustainable
    Development?
    Sustainable development is the idea that human societies must live and meet their
    needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own
    needs.
    Principles of
    Sustainability
    The principles of sustainability are the
    foundations of what this concept represents.
    Therefore, sustainability is made up of three
    pillars: the economy, society, and the
    environment. These principles are also
    informally used as profit, people and planet.
    Environmental Integrity

    Refers to maintaining the state of the environment. This means


    that human activities should not disrupt the ecosystem and human
    communities located in the area.
    Environmental Integrity
    Economic Efficiency

    Refers to prudence in decision-making regarding the use of resources to ensure that


    there is minimum to zero waste.

    Prudence- ability to regulate one’s actions and behavior.

    Frugality- being thrifty with the use of one’s resources.

    Social Equity
    Social equity is another fundamental principle of sustainability, aiming to
    create a just and inclusive society where all individuals have the opportunity to
    fulfil their potential. It encompasses such issues as human rights, social
    justice, and equitable access to resources and opportunities.

    Intergenerational equity is the responsibility of current generations to leave a
