SESSION OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of the session, the participants shall be able to:

Understand and accept the aim, principles and programs


of the 5 Sections of the Scouting Programs-

KID,
KAB,
Boy,
Senior,
Rover Scouting
THE KID SCOUT PROGRAM
BACKGROUND OF KID SCOUTING

Introduction of the “Kinder Scout”


in answer to the clamor from the field.

11 Associations from 136 National


Scouts Associations, have some
form of pre-KAB Scouting Program.

The Girl Scouts have pre-elementary


school scouts known as “Twinklers”.
RATIONALE FOR INTRODUCING THE KID PROGRAM

1. A Pre-KAB Program could be another venue for Scouting

2. A Pre-KAB Program geared towards charcter building


at an early age can contribute in their value formation

3. Pre-school children can be organized and taught values


and skills

4. Pre-KAB Program can be a vehicle to attract new crop


for leaders, and parents.

5. An organized Scouting program designed to cater to the need


of young children to complement other programs.
OBJECTIVES OF THE KID SCOUTING PROGRAM

1. To develop in 4 to 6 year-old boys a sense of responsibility


in the home and in the institution through training in moral
and social values

2. To develop skills relevant to their daily life.

3. To develop skills that will make them self-reliant and useful


members of the family and the institution.

OBJECTIVES ( Senior Scout Code )

1. Live up to the Scout Oath and Law, Senior Scout Motto and Slogan.

2. Familiar with the Constitution of the Philippines, the rights and


obligations as a Filipino citizen.

3. Share responsibilities of his home, school, church, neighborhood,


community and country.

4. Deal fairly and kindly with fellowmen, in the spirit of Scout Law.

5. Preserve our Filipino heritage, aware that the privileges we enjoy


are won by sacrifices of our forefathers.

6. To do everything to pass on a better Philippines to the next


generations.

OBJECTIVES

1. Promote the moral and spiritual upliftment of the community.

2. Promote desirable Filipino customs and tradition.

3. Assist the Youth to promote healthful living in the community.


4. Render service during emergencies.
5. Make wise decisions and accept responsibilities for the decisions.
6. Train the Youth in useful skills in socio-economic development.
7. Serve in leadership capacity in the Boy Scouts of the Philippines.

YOUTH/ ADULT MEMBERSHIP


ROVER: Young man, 16 – 23 years old, with option
to join the Rover Peer at 24 years old and up.
ROVERETTES: Young woman, 16 – 24 years old, with option
to join the Rover Peer at 25 and up.
ROVER PEER: Male adult, 24 years old up or Female, 25 years old up
has been a Scout or not, affiliation with other Scout unit,
and leadership responsibilities in the Scouting
organization. ( Peer is a legal equal, a companion )
