    1. Love is the greatest commandment given by God and the most important thing in the Christian life. It is necessary for believers to practice love, which flows from being born of God. 2. True love is defined by God and shown through Jesus, who laid down his life for humanity. Love is patient, kind, and does not seek its own interests. It bears all things and believes, hopes, and endures all things. 3. Without love, one does not know God and remains in death. Love is the reason for and driving force behind all Christian service and is the greatest of the three virtues of faith, hope, and love.

    You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.
