It has very high tensile strength compared to its weight and is 5 times stronger than steel. Kevlar is cut and impact resistant, flame resistant, and chemically resistant while also being light weight. It is used in applications such as ballistic protection gear, ropes, tires, adhesives, and composites due to its high strength and durability properties.
