Moldova is a country situated in the
Eastern Europe, bordered by Romania
to the west and Ukraine to the north,
east, and south.
Fun fact! People say that Moldova has
the shape of a bunch of grapes, which
makes it easier to spot on a map.
Chisinau- our capital

Chisinau is the largest city of the Republic of Moldova. The city is Moldova's main
industrial and commercial center and it has about 700 000 inhabitants.

Moldova is a beautiful country of great


historical heritage. Hence, we have a
fair number of wonderful places to
visit, some of them are:
 Old Orhei
 Milestii Mici
 Soroca Fortress
What famous places do we have?
The Old Orhei Archaeological Complex is
famed for its rich ancient history, for historical
monuments and natural landscapes. It is also
famous for the cave monasteries located there.

of many artifacts.

it one of the best-selling singles of all
time.

Moldovan musical trio .They
are famous for representing
Moldova in the Eurovision
Song Contest twice, gaining
the third place in 2017 with
the song “Hey,Mamma!”.
They are also famous for the
Epic Sax Guy.

• Eugen Doga is a Moldovan composer.
A creator of three ballets, more than
100 instrumental and choral works –
symphonies, 6 quartets, “Requiem”,
church music, and other, plus music for
13 plays, radio shows, more than 200
movies, more than 260 songs and
romances, more than 70 waltzes. He is
most known for his waltz “My sweet
and tender beast”, which was twice
used in the Olympic Games opening
ceremony.

pastry resembling a thin, small round or
square-shaped cake, usually filled with a
soft cheese such as “branza”, potatoes or
cabbage.

Traditional Moldovan Cabbage Rolls
are made with sour cabbage stuffed with
pork and beef and little bit of bacon, the
best cabbage rolls you will ever have.

• Bread and salt (colac)
Is a welcome greeting ceremony
in Slavic and in Middle Eastern
cultures.It is given to important,
respected or admired guests .
When they arrive they are given
colac placed on an embroidered
towel.A salt holder is placed on
top of the colac.
