OPINION

• I have to admit that I adore reading. So it is supposed to be easier, at least for me, to read a book, but naturally
it depends on the book. At night and with a pencil to underline is not pleasant.
• “Us” has been a challenge for me. IIt´s true that I had chosen the book because it seems easy to read, a kind of
story not very complicated. And also I loved the cover (red) like a chocolates box. But inside has many mix
and the chocolates were not all sweet.
• What I like most about the book is that it could be the story of anyone that we know, a person, a couple or a
family. In this case is a family in a special point in their relationship and they have to solve the situation.
• During the holiday Douglas thinks deeply on the incidents in their past life together to undestand how things
went wrong in his relationship with his wife. Holiday is the equivalent to the travel in life. There is something
funny about holidaying relatives that makes for good comic fiction that I loved.
• On the other hand, the story has a lot of flashbacks and this can become arduous because the rhythm can
become monotonous at times. But in general, I would recommend it because it is in some ways quite a gentle
book, not very complicated and in some way as real as life.
• And last but not least I fell, finally, that it has met expectations. It is a book with philosophical depth amid the
entertainment.
