Various
 Various Duties
Duties Related to Related to Electrical
Electrical Field Field
in Company:- in Company:-

 Various Duties Related to Electrical Field in Company:-

First duty as an electrical engineering is to do the safe work. Understanding all safety measures
and follow all rules of safety.

Take work permit.

Learn single line diagram of company.

To know about PCC and MCC.

To know about all the types of panels & relay.

Maintenance

Take proper meter reading for log sheet.

Analysis

4
Single Line Diagram Of Company

 To learn single line diagram:

5
Motors

• Various Ratings of motors are as follows:

1. 10 HP 1400rpm
2. 10 HP 2800rpm
3. 7.5 HP 960rpm
4. 5 HP 1400rpm

• Maximum rating of motor= 192 KW (143 HP)

• Minimum rating of motor= 0.373 KW (0.5 HP)

6
Relays

 Various types of relay:

• A relay that has contacts that operate when the voltage drops below a set voltage.

• Relay in industry:
I. Instantaneous earth fault relay
II. Tripping relay(for VCB)110-125 volt
III. Auxiliary relay(for transformer) 110-125 volt

7
Duties Performed During Training Program

 Training by Observation of Various Technical Tasks Performed in

Field:-
1.In the first week of internship at Jal Aqua, Safety In-charge gave some
knowledge regarding how to do safe work & safety rules for the industry.
oPersonal Protective Equipment:
oHelmet
oHand gloves
oSafety gogles
oSafety shoes
oRequirements for work in industry:
 Equipment
 Permit: 1.Hot permit, 2.Cold permit, 3.Height permit, 4.Confined spaces work
permit, 5.Chemical work permit
 PPE

2. Learn about the commercial wiring of switch board & giving

connection to it:
® In this guide gave some information about how to do commercial wiring for switch
board.
® It contains 4 switches, 1 socket, 1 regulator.
8
Duties Performed During Training Program

3. To understand the basic knowledge of SCADA & PLC:

 In this guide give some basic knowledge of how to control any valve using SCADA and how
the PLC is working.
 Guide give basic of how to control any motor using PLC and how it works.
 In SCADA they set the pressure and on-off the valve using this display.

Duties Performed During Training Program

4. To change the contactor & relay also give connection of it in lime section:
5. Due to overloading fuse melts and one contactor and relay is damaged due to it.
6. So firstly, we check the wiring connection and afterwards give connection to the new
contactor and relay and auxiliary contactor is also used in it.
 After giving connection it is started working.

10
Duties Performed During Training Program

 Training by Practically Performed Tasks:-

1. To make a DOL starter and to understand the control and power wiring of it:
 Firstly, I take the components to make the DOL starter are as follows:

I. MCB
II. Connector
III. OLR (relay)
IV. Start pushbutton
V. Stop pushbutton
VI. Wires

 After that I connect the wiring as per the diagram.

 After the connection it is started working properly by start push button the NO becomes NC
and by stop push button it becomes NC to NO.

Duties Performed During Training Program

2. To take meter readings for log sheet:

®For the log sheet of meter reading required readings are taken by me from the G.E.B. mains
meter.

3. To make a new switch board:

®Giving connection of new board from another switch board of construction department. Switch
board consists of 2 switches, 2 socket. Also give connection to another 2 switch boards.

12
Duties Performed During Training Program

4. Changed The Indicator:

 In chlorine section the indicator of scale 3 is not properly working. Because of this issue
SCADA system is not showing proper pressure of scale 3 container. So we have change it with
a new indicator box & make it usable for the purpose of accurate reading measures which is
done by SCADA monitoring.

13
Duties Performed During Training Program

5. To telly the checklist :

 To check the plant motors and other equipments are properly working or not and check it’s
rated voltage, current etc.

14
Conclusion

 Experience & Knowledge Obtained:-

I know more practically details about how to do technical work in industry.

Team work is important for all the departments.

I have experienced that it is of importance that education is objective and that we

have to be aware of the industrial aspect of the topics we study.

15
Conclusion

 Relation of Training with the Engineering Subjects Learnt:
