Presentation Substation Maintenance Section
• Review and update the pertaining HSE procedures and manuals ensuring
all engineers are informed and compliant.
• Approve and recommend the guidelines and programs for the CBM
maintenance of the all 11-33KV asset equipment and Low Voltage (LV)
panel in coordination with the CBM maintenance engineer.
• Review & approve the weekly and monthly reports on the status of the
CBM and minor corrective maintenance repairs of substations.

• Receive original reports from the Maintenance Planning Section based on
the AADC approval for the CBM plan.
• Provide a technical report for the preparation of the annual budget for Unit
predicting material, equipment, manpower consumption, new
developments for the forecasted year.
• Ensure all staff under the Unit have or are undergoing training and
development. To remain committed to the development of staff within the
section.
• Coordinate with section head and all other unit heads to ensure all Key
Performance Indicators (KPIs) are achieved.
Head of CM Unit
• Mange, control and direct all substation activities pertaining to the Corrective
Maintenance Unit.
• Review and update the pertaining HSE procedures and manuals ensuring all
engineers are informed and compliant.
• Review & approve weekly and monthly reports on the status of the corrective
maintenance repairs of Substations, inclusive of material and equipment
usage, and recommendation for future works.
• Monitor the status of the Substations and refer all immediate cases to the
Corrective Maintenance Unit to remove the abnormalities and complete the
necessary work orders pertaining to network assets.

• Prepare a report for any failed or damaged equipment (asset) including the
Root Cause Analysis for each failure and prepare technical supporting
insurance report.
• Ensure the equipment and materials for the Substation Maintenance are
thoroughly and accurately assessed in accordance to the HSE, RSB and AADC to
ensure the safety of all staff.
• Ensure all staff are thoroughly trained and ensure the guidelines by the HSE,
RSB and AADC are strictly adhered to.
• Provide a technical report for the preparation of the annual budget for Unit
predicting material, equipment, manpower consumption, new developments
for the forecasted year.
• Coordinate with section head and all other unit heads to ensure all Key
Performance Indicators (KPIs)are achieved.
Head of RCM Unit
• Mange, control and direct all substation activities pertaining to the Reliability
Centered Maintenance Unit.
• Review and update the pertaining HSE procedures and manuals ensuring all
engineers are informed and compliant.
• Head the Deep Interrogation Program into all selected assets against a pre-defined
measurable criterion, investigating the dimensions pertaining to the manufacturer,
age, type, model, operational condition.
• Generate a model for the, life span of the asset and health index (risk), with
recommendations submitted to Asset Management.
• Prepare a report for any abnormal equipment (asset) including the Root
Cause Analysis for each case.
• Provide a technical report for the preparation of the annual budget for
Unit predicting material, equipment, manpower consumption, new
developments for the forecasted year.

• Coordinate with section head and all other unit heads to ensure all Key

Head of Technical Support Unit
• Liaise with the Technical Management Team (TMT) & Project Management Team
(PMT) to assist in all AADC projects pertaining to the development of new and
existing substations.
• Assist the TMT to review and provide technical support to all tenders and offers
up to the reward of the contract.
• Assist the PMT to provide technical expertise until the project has been awarded
and handed it over for development and completion. To mainly assist on projects
pertaining to AADC, Municipality, private clients, hospitals etc.
• Review and recommend the guidelines and programs for the CBM, preventative
and corrective maintenance of the all 11/33KV assets.
• Ensure the equipment and materials for the Substation Maintenance are
thoroughly and accurately assessed in accordance to the HSE, RSB and AADC to
ensure the safety of all staff.

material, equipment, manpower consumption, new developments, projects for the
forecasted year.
• Review and update work procedures for job plan activities in coordination with the
concerned maintenance units, and report to the substation maintenance Head for
approval & forwarding to planning section with recommendations.
• Review and follow/ participate in the inspection of the inventory material in both Site
and Factory Tests.
• Ensure all engineers review and update ADWEA Standard Technical Specification
(ASTS). To update the quality control of equipment, review ISO and HSE policies,
procedures and guidelines.
• Ensure all staff under the Unit have or are undergoing training and development. To
remain committed to the development of staff within the section.
• Research new technologies and methods to enhance the Power Network, for future
demands.
