INTRODUCTION: WEB DEVELOPMENT
Web development involves the building and
maintenance of websites. It primarily focuses on
the backend, the work happening behind the
scenes to make websites look great, attractive,
and user-friendly. HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
are key languages used in web development.
Essentially, web development brings our ideas
and thoughts to life on the computer screen.

Hyper Text Markup Language
It describes the structure of web pages using
markups
It is used to provide the content (words, images,
audios, videos) on the web pages
HTML is a tag based language
They are defined within the angle bracket

CSS INTRODUCTION
Cascading Style Sheets
 It describes how HTML elements are to be
presented on a screen.
 Contains the rules for the presentation of HTML.
 CSS can control the layout of multiple web pages
at once.
 It includes adding visuals like colors , fonts,
layouts ,etc

 JavaScript
 A lightweight programming language ("scripting language")
 It describes the behavior of web pages.
 It is used to make web pages interactive
 It insert dynamic text into HTML (ex: user name)

HTML TAGS
1. DOCTYPE: Declares the HTML version (e.g., <!
DOCTYPE html> for HTML5).
2. HTML Elements: Tags that define the start and end of
content (e.g., <p> for paragraphs, <h1> for headings, <br>
for line breaks).
3. LISTS:
 Unordered Lists (<ul>): Items with bullet points.
 Ordered Lists (<ol>): Items with numerical order.
 Description Lists (<dl>): Defines terms with descriptions.
4. Nesting Elements: Placing elements within other elements
for structure.

5. Images: Display images using <img
src="images/logo.png">. The alt attribute provides
alternative text for accessibility.
6. Attributes: Provide extra information about elements,
modifying their behavior (e.g., <tag_name
attribute_name="value">).
7. Anchor Tag (<a>): Defines hyperlinks.
 href: Specifies the link destination.
 Target: Specifies where the link opens (e.g., _blank
for new tabs).

CASCADING STYLE SHEET (CSS)
CSS – Cascading Style Sheets
CSS is a styling language used to control the presentation of web pages,
from backgrounds to text colors.
•Purpose: Defines the look and layout of HTML elements.
•Structure: Written in a separate .css file and linked to an HTML file
using the <link> tag with the href attribute.
SELECTORS:
 Tags: Styles all elements with a specified tag (e.g., p { color: blue; }).
 ID: Targets unique elements using #id_name.
 Class: Applies styles to multiple elements with .class_name.
BOX MODEL: Consists of margin, border, padding, and content for precise
layout control.
INSPECT ELEMENT: A browser tool for viewing and modifying code
live.

BOOTSTRAP – CSS LIBRARY
Bootstrap – CSS Library
Bootstrap is a CSS library with pre-defined classes
for quick and responsive design.
• Usage: Attach it to an HTML file via <link>
with the href pointing to the Bootstrap source.
• Customization: Additional CSS styles can be
added in a separate file and linked after
Bootstrap for further customization.

Java is a popular, versatile language used for Android apps, web
applications, and large systems.
FEATURES:
 Runs on any device with Java Virtual Machine (JVM).
 Object-oriented (uses classes and objects).
USES:
 Android app development.
 Web backend with frameworks like Spring.
 Enterprise software and large applications.

Python is an easy-to-read programming language used in web
development, data science, automation, and more.
FEATURES:
 Simple syntax, like English.
 Many libraries for different tasks (e.g., NumPy for math,
Django for web).
USES:
