VOCAL MUSIC
 Vocal music is a type of singing
performed by one or more singers,
either with instrumental
accompaniment, or without
instrumental accompaniment (a
cappella), in which singing provides the
main focus of the piece.

based on a poem that is often
accompanied by the piano.

 A lieder refers to a group of

born on January 31, 1797.

 He followed his father’s


profession as a teacher and spent
his spare time writing
compositions.

various other projects.

Turandot, La Bohéme, and Madame
butterfly.

 Inspired by Beethoven’s Ninth
Symphony, Wagner became one of

composers.

Lohengrin, Tristan und Isolde,
Parisfal, and his great tetralogy De
Ring des Nibelungen (Ring of the
Nibelungs).
