the 1960’s to
today.

How women’s
roles in work
environments
has changed
over the past
decades:
From labor participation,
eduavailabilitycational attainment
and, women have slowly but surely
turned the tides for the better by
striving for a better pay, civil rights,
and a better work environment.
Employers expected women to leave the job after
a few years to start families, and wouldn’t hire
them to avoid investing the money.
Women had very limited daycare options due to
their work. Since they were always supposed to be

into consideration. Women would also earn less at

years: It was also very hard for women to become CEO’s
or attain higher positions.
Employment has always In 1963, women would earn $0.59 cents per every

showing the unfair treatment

Men V.S
women in
the
workforce:
Women earn upwards of $100 less
than men in these cases, and other
factors like race can impact their
wages as well. In total, they earn
roughly $150 less.
The civil
rights
movement
and its
impact for
feminism:
The Civil Rights Movement
had helped women attain
more grounds for growth
and development to higher
and better positions.
The book
that sparked
a question:
This book helped women
think of a better life with
achievements and
personal goals, not one of
domestic pursuits and
home-minding mentalities.
Television shows with
women as the lead roles
started popping up more
often as well, despite the
criticism and scorn it
produced.

world:
America,
though heavily
controversial,

the sense that
young girls
could aspire to
be something
more than

mothers.
Same pageant, seven decades
apart.
Feminist developments in the 70’s
Lots of things were formed towards informing women and empowering them.
Further developments in the 70’s that stand today.
From court legalizations to changes in ideals. Abortion sucks. Use a condom.
Equal rights
and
recognizatio
n:
Congress’ approval of
the Equal rights
Amendment helped
women all across
America find better
opportunities in work
and lifestyle.
Recent income
and
employment:
What it all
means for
today.
Women are still earning
a percentage of usual
male paychecks, and
this is still a problem for
the people of today.
