Project Brief: Comprehensive Exploration of Fashion Design and Development

Objective: The objective of this project is to provide students with a holistic understanding
and practical experience in various aspects of fashion design, including fashion marketing and
merchandising, fashion forecasting, traditional and fundamental of textiles, garment
construction, pattern making, and computer applications. The student will engage in hands on
activities to develop design process, sourcing fabric and trims, understanding garment
manufacturing process, draping, surface ornamentation, creating accessories and finally
developing a women princess top with denims.

4. Documentation and Presentation (20%): Clarity and professionalism in written
documentation, visual presentation, and oral communication skills.

The final output of the project will be a:
A comprehensive project report detailing research findings, design concepts, and technical

processes for each subject area.


Physical prototypes of garments demonstrating proficiency in construction and draping.

Prototype of accessory (belt/bag) demonstrating proficiency in Textiles.


Digital files including design sketches and simulations created using computer
applications.

This integrated project aims to equip students with a solid foundation in fashion design
principles and practical skills necessary for success in the fashion industry.
