T (ティー) is a Smasher from Tokyo, Kantō, Japan. He is known for being one of the greatest Link players in all of Smash.
T's competitive career began in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. His breakout tournament in Japan was at Umebura 24, where he defeated several Smash veterans to place 2nd, a notable feat during a time when Link was considered ineffective. He eventually achieved international recognition for his performance at 2GGC: Civil War, where he made Winners Finals after defeating players such as Abadango, Fatality, Tsu-, and NAKAT and ultimately placed 3rd. This performance is considered the greatest tournament performance from a Link player, and alongside other performances from T, greatly contributed to Link's rise to the top of the mid-tier on the final tier list. These achievements established T as the greatest Smash 4 Link player of all time, and he was ultimately ranked 46th on the PGR 100.
T continued to play Link in Ultimate, and likewise achieved great success with the character. This includes placing 2nd at Sumabato SP 5, which is the best placement from a Link player at a major, his performance at Umebura SP 7, where he defeated many of Japan's best players including Kameme to place 4th, and his performance at 2GG: Kongo Saga, where he defeated Zackray and Dabuz to place 5th. The latter two performances especially helped him rank 15th on the Fall 2019 PGRU, which remains the only time a Link player has ranked in the top 50, let alone top 20. T's absence and worse results in the post-pandemic metagame correlated with a decline in Link's reception in the community, with no other Link players coming close to T's early metagame results. As such, he is considered the greatest Ultimate Link player of all time.
On February 20th, 2020, T became the first Super Smash Bros. Ultimate player to be sponsored by UYU.[1] He left the team on July 18th, 2023.[2]
