Good Uni, happy to be here with good facilities
All was good, good access to clubs and going out on west street, access via bus into city centre as well
Everything is brilliant, especially the receptionists
Only been here a semester, but it seems better than a lot of other unis (from what I've heard).
Nice environment and friendly staffs👍🏿
There is a wide range of clubs and societies, plenty of support resources and lectures on building a CV and working on employability.
great support systems. Good careers advice
It is solid, near city center and safe city.
I'm paying about £170 a week for an ensuite room, which is relatively expensive compared to living in other parts of Sheffield. The layout of the flat is good and it is very helpful to have a lift to take heavy items up the floors, One thing I will say is that the gym is way too sparse in terms of equipment. I cannot do much upper-body training there as there are no heavy weights to work with. The location of Ranmoor is quite inconvinient, as you will have walk a fair while to get to lectures, labs and seminars. I suggest to engineering students especially to seek accommodation closer to the Diamond, as some of the engineering facilities can take up to 45 minutes at walking pace. Another thing I should praise is the public transport link from Ranmoor to the city centre. They are frequent and at a reasonable price if you use your U-card.
university experiance so far as a first year has been good, i have most of my lectures and seminars in the wave which is a really nice space nice and open, the cafe having lots of food and drinks available.
I don’t want to leave, I’ve spent my BA and MA years here
Student union really deserves its place as best in the country!
good unni, wifi isnt always great
Pretty excellent all round. Great.
There's always lots to do and places to study/socialise
I have really enjoyed my time here so far! The facilities are brilliant and there is so much going on for students to enjoy.
A great uni that attracts a lovely bunch of people. Sheffield is a lovely city and super close to the Peaks!! Would recommend
Love the uni, so glad I go here, great accommodation, nice places for second year, good friends
slay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing campus with lots of smaller local businesses around, the students union is a great place to study or socialise and the libraries/study spaces are always available.
University of Sheffield and Sheffield in general is a great place to study. Not only is it about the cheapest city you can study in but there is something for everyone and I would recommend Endcliffe village for first year accommodation as it’s really lively and most people are there.
Overall pretty good, lots of societial events
Great University, nice staff, lots of facilities
Provides everything that i need, nothing to complain about and great staff.
eduroam is awful and intermittent, and also doesnt reach everywhere in the accommodation, some people i know have to use data more than the wifi when in their rooms.
Campus has really good facilities and SU is really active
I have enjoyed my time at university so far
Lovely uni Can’t complain about the union they do quite abit for you like the free food fridge and the free washes
Overall I am having a great time
The student union bangs so much
Wifi was really difficult to connect to and my ipad still isn't connected
Sheffield university is great, it keeps students very busy(depending on your degree), personally I think being busy learning a lot of interesting things, meeting new people is better than having not a lot of things to do. Clubs and society is a very wide. diversity (there is even a bee keeping society)
excellent in all categories, facilities vary massively depending on your course and the internet is Eduroam which is c*** but is across most universites
Good social life. Love Leadmill
Overall very happy with the university, the buildings and the support we receive.
The facilities, societies and support provided are all really good, the University really listens to student feedback and takes it on board. The student union is a nice place to grab lunch and study, and has a great underground venue for frequent union events!
The university facilities are excellent, however I always get randomly disconnected from the wifi and constantly have to re-login which is highly irritating.
Uni WiFi is decent but can sometimes have issues connecting. Some lecture theatres particularly the one in the student union aren’t the best as it lacks a proper desk to place a laptop or take notes.
Overall good, wifi could be better
Good university with support found everywhere. Lots of facilities, study spaces and extracurricular activities
Excellent university with great facilities. Very inclusive with easy access to the city
It’s good, could have even more seating and social spaces tho
Lots of society options, WiFi is good but occasionally disconnects from your phone for some reason
The University of Sheffield is very good. It is not overly complicated, the buildings are great with several facilities, such as for food, and the staff are always helpful.
Study is exciting, but the amount of students surprised
Overall had a really good university experience with a wide range of societies and a great student union.
Very good facilities for all types of people
Really welcoming atmosphere, good support but can be difficult doing admin. Lots of opportunities and things to do and the student union building has everything!
I love the residence life opportunities that give me opportunities to be more creative
Great uni, the main accommodations are a bit far away but there's great people here
Very good & safe area, close to shops
The university is great, they have lots of services and accommodations. I love studying here.
I dont personally join these clubs and societies. So i believe they are good
really good student union- very social. wifi very unstable though.
The university has been incredible so far - there is real sense of community through the student union and societies
great, love sheffield, great people great uni great city spots
Great uni everything you need and more
Good experience, wifi can cut out sometimes
Well equipped buildings, especially the engineering department. Student union is so good; the events, socials and sports societies are a must at Sheffield!
Good facilities and good location

The university and campus is excellent.
wifi slow, SU had great shops and food places, lecture theatres are comfortable
Very pleasant university life, classmates and teachers are very friendly, school facilities are very good, transportation is convenient
Could not have been happier with my choice. Prices, location, support and facilities are all really good.
The students union is rated best in the country.
I think that the university is fantastic, as we have a range of opportunities in academic and social life.
Good uni with excellent facilities and student union.
Nice place and a well organised university.
There is lots of study spaces and the night life at the student union is always fun
overall university of sheffield met all my expectations!
there are many clubs. i joined the volleyball society and i love attending it on the weekends, i met many of my friends there. the student union has amazing things like the merch, food shops, nice lecture halls and places to study
The amount of options at Sheffield uni is amazing there is something for everyone there. The staff at all levels are amazing in their support.
Arguably the best SU in the country
Variety of clubs and societies!
Campus is good, with many nice study spaces suited for different preferences. When trying to find employment, the careers service in the SU was incredibly helpful, however there aren't that many student-friendly jobs available. Wifi does cut out every so often, but is still good.
Amazing uni, lovely atmosphere.
All round great experience, good
Honestly overall great university experience
环境不错,前台客服很友善,公共区域也很大,别特别好,good
really good service,lots of events
I love it here. I think I am very happy in England! The people here are very nice and have cured my depression and anxiety.
There is one thing I disliked ,that is about this university’s QS rank. I hope that the QS rank will be back in top 100.
Great team and amazing facilities!
I'm a languages UG mature student and have found the department underfunded and under resourced. There are no physical languages labs or even online programmes or web memberships for the purpose of a virtual immersive environment orimproving pronunciation; no languages department study spaces for undergrads, and the classes are outsourced to other unrelated buildings as there is such limited teaching space there. Teaching materials and approaches are limited and hard to navigate. On the other hand, if you study engineering, you'd have a much better deal as there are many labs and practical spaces to design and work. I would not recommend Sheffield for mature students as the SU provision is limited to occasional socials and there is no useful help on the website or from the SU officers, as provision is made through the foundation course department only and does not extend to degree level. There is no designated well-being officer nor support webpage. Nottingham is much better.
It's been an exciting experience, so far.
Wifi cuts out quite often and better off using mobile data on your phone
Being at The University of Sheffield has offered experiences I don't know I would have experienced elsewhere. The facilities are amazing, the Students Union is the best for a reason, there are many job opportunities (within the uni or outside of uni, the memories I have made because I have come here is more than what I could have asked for, and university life here is constantly evolving!
The university of Sheffield is a fun university with lots to offer. From a fun nightlife to a more relaxed day in the peaks, Sheffield is full of things to explore. Starting uni has been an exciting experience of meeting new people and becoming more independent both in my academic and personal life.
I love this school very much. Maybe Sheffield is the last stop of my student life. I spent a wonderful time in the master's program here and learned a lot. I met many classmates and friends from all over the world. The time here is a precious memory in my lifeI hope the school will get better and better. When I am old, if I have the chance, I would like to revisit this place, lie on the lawn opposite Dimond, or lie down and look at the sky, and recall the good student days.
The University of Sheffield offers an enriching MBA experience, blending cutting-edge business knowledge with a global perspective. As a Zimbabwean student, I value the diverse cohort, world-class faculty, and focus on sustainability and innovation. The supportive environment fosters networking and personal growth, preparing me to excel in a dynamic business world.
Could have better music amenities, other than only pianos. Music building is only available to music students.
The Vibe: Sheffield is a really cool city with a great student scene. The Uni itself is well-respected, and you get a good sense of community. The Course: East Asian Studies is awesome if you're into history, politics, and languages. You get to explore different cultures and learn about the world. Plus, it opens up a lot of career paths. Things to Consider: Balancing uni life with other stuff can be tough, especially if you have family or other commitments. Make sure you have a plan for how you'll manage your time and finances. Overall: If you're passionate about East Asia and ready for a challenge, Sheffield could be a great choice!
Regularly sends out weekly emails from the student union keeping us informed of events that are going on. Good offers from career services always offering opportunities and specific placement or work experience teams. Some nice buildings but certain facilities could be better
nice campus lots of places t0 go
Lovely campus and buildings, really enjoying course.
Lots of space to work and nice food. The lecture theaters are mainly nice to be in except avoid the Nelson Mandela if you are left handed.
I enjoy the overall experience at Sheffield University.
Love Sheffield and the campus, Wi-Fi could be better though.
I think that this is a great uni, they have everything a student could want or need and the standard to which they operate at is high. Good courses, departments, facilities and plenty of social opportunities as well.
