As the Enterprise Applications Editor at Computer Weekly, Brian covers business applications, information management, and cybersecurity topics.
Immediately prior to this role, he was a senior analyst, Business Applications for Informa TechTarget's Enterprise Strategy Group, specializing in customer experience.
He also worked on broader Enterprise Strategy Group projects in the Emea region, in 2023 and 2024. These included video projects with BrightTALK, an Informa TechTarget subsidiary.
He is a former editor of Computer Weekly, Infosecurity and Knowledge Management magazines, and has edited academic journals in information science and computer security.
Brian has a degree in History and English (with Philosophy) from the University of Glasgow, a doctorate in English Literature from the University of Oxford (Wadham College), and was a British Academy post-doctoral fellow and Junior Research Fellow there before becoming an editor and journalist. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a Common Room member at Wolfson College, Oxford.
