Synopsis

When aspiring social media influencer “DropTheMike” is offered a lucrative sponsorship to grow his channel, he's joined by his video crew on a visit to one of the most haunted hotels in America, where he’ll give his audience a horrific night of thrill-seeking the likes of which they have never seen before. What begins as a fun investigative challenge including the infamous Elevator Ritual quickly descends into a personal hell of true evil, begging the timely question: how far would you go to pursue internet fame?

VOD Releases: Horror Films are Out for Blood

September 3rd, 2020

It’s a busy week on VOD, especially if you are a fan of horror. Blood Quantum, Followed, and Z are all worth checking out. There are also some smaller horror releases or ones with weaker reviews that might be worth it for more hardcore fans. If you are not a fan of horror, then The Wind Rises is your best bet. More...

Weekend Wrap-Up: Followed Falls, Becky Still Bountiful

June 30th, 2020

Followed

There are no reported numbers for re-releases this week, so information was very limited on this weekend’s box office chart. Followed fell nearly 50% from its opening weekend, earning $77,609 in 41 theaters for a two-week total of $330,197. Becky was right behind with $72,776 in just 17 theaters for a total of $817,916 after four weeks of release. It was down just 13%, meaning if it can keep this up, it will be on pace for $1 million domestically. This would be great news for its distributor, Quiver, and indeed good news for the box office in general. Overall, however, the theatrical market is looking dismal, particularly with growing COVID-19 case counts around the country, many states reversing course on relaxing lockdowns, and movie theater chains delaying their reopenings.
