An article (Landlords in England and Wales face ban on rental bidding wars, 12 September, p8) should have made clear that the majority of the provisions in the renters’ rights bill – including the ban on rental bidding referred to in the headline and text – apply to England only. However, more robust protections against rental discrimination are being extended to Wales and Scotland.
