“There’s a lot of data crunching behind the scenes to make sure that this works,” said Alan Fyall, associate dean of academic affairs at the University of Central Florida’s Rosen College of Hospitality Management.

“Today it’s hard to imagine a band of that size having multiple albums to develop and prove itself,” says Jason King, dean of USC’s Thornton School of Music.

Soon after the new policy went into effect, Paul Duke, Uni High’s dean of students, said that a teacher pulled him aside to tell him, incredulously, that students were actually paying attention to his lessons.

“Disney is now the most storied brand in America; if you are that, you have a target on your forehead,” said Stephen Galloway, dean of Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts.

The deans urged the California Supreme Court to allow test takers who sat through the exam and were unsuccessful to obtain provisional licenses under the supervision of experienced attorneys.
