Ethedis Silverspring
my first and most beloved character! She's an Elf Loremaster from Rivendell, apprentice of Lord Elrond and daughter of Talagan Silvertongue (who she sadly never met before his death, as she was only a baby at the time). Young by the standards of her people and extremely energetic, one of the iconic tra la la lally elves that harass greet visitors to the valley, she did not give off Main Character energy. Yet the Plot found her nonetheless, and things just went downhill for her from there.
She befriended the Ranger Tossdir while hunting for a Nazgul in the Misty Mountains, and although they got off to a rocky start they ended up growing close very quickly. She was once friends with Corunir before he disappeared and was presumed dead in Angmar and friends with Amdir before he fell into shadow and had to be slain by her hand, so it seems Rangers who befriend her don't hold a very good track record for staying alive... Needless to say she's determined to make sure Tossdir does not suffer a similar fate.
Tossdir
my Dunedain Brawler, younger brother of Meneldir, Ethedis' best friend. Loyal to a fault and more on the reckless side of things compared to the rest of his kin, he followed Meneldir into his self-imposed exile years ago and hasn't had contact with the other Rangers since. At least not until the coming of Uruks bearing the mark of the White Hand stirred him and his brother to action. And then nothing bad happened to either of them :) don't worry about it :) Nothing tragic befalls them :) after his return to Eriador he's still somewhat distant from the other Rangers, and feels as though he needs to earn his place among them after his long absence. He'll do whatever it takes to be worthy of his star.
Margim
[Fic] Half-Nurnhoth Half-Black Numenorean champion, recently escaped from Mordor. She lived for most of her life as a slave in the pit-fighting arena of Thorzhaf, treated more like a war-hound than a person, and was driven to escape when she made an unlikely friendship with a Gondorian healer named Celeair who had been captured and brought to Thorzhaf to be killed. She was set to be the one to kill him, but decided "fuck that" and fights her way out of Mordor with him. She slow to speak and slower to anger, though when someone truly earns her wrath death will come swiftly. Despite- or more accurately because of- her past, she detests violence and the act of killing, yet this is an opinion she rarely voices as she also sees it as "the only thing she's good for". At least now she can fight to protect people rather than acting as the arm of hatred, and that will just have to be good enough. She wanders around for a long time after her escape, and eventually finds her place in the world with the Stag-Clan in Dunland. Also she eventually marries Celeair <3
Celeair
Human Loremaster/Herbalist of Gondor. Wise in many respects, incredibly foolish in others. He is a staunch pacifist gifted in the healing arts, outgoing and friendly, optimistic, and places more importance on his duty as a healer than his own life. After he was captured and taken to Mordor, he befriended his would-be executioner by basically being the first person to show her genuine kindness and managed to escape with her. Not only did this man somehow convince his executioner not to kill him, but actually ended up marrying her! Loves Margim very very much. Certified Wife Guy.
Ciriondil
Human Mariner of Gondor. After a storm blew his ship off course and far, far north, he was kidnapped by Dourhand pirates and brought to Kheledûl, presumably to be sold to their goblin allies. Luckily he was rescued just in time by Longbeards and brought back to Thorin's Hall, but now he's half a continent away from home, with no money, no ship, and the fate of his beloved crew unknown. He eventually joins the Iron Garrison to reclaim Moria, in the hopes of earning enough money to get a ship and Get Home. He's generally level-headed and caring for those under his command, with a great fondness for dad-jokes.
Elwar
[Fic] or "Ellie" more commonly, human burglar and former Blackwold. A troubled and misguided kid (around 16) who fell in with the wrong crowd and didn't realize it until she was in too deep. She was friends with two other Blackwolds, Walt and Edd, who were also growing disillusioned with their group and their Angmarim allies. The three were planning to desert the Blackwolds, but sadly never got the chance. An elf clad in green (hey wait a second is that Ethedis?) broke into their hideout and freed the mad Ranger and slew many brigands. Disoriented and afraid, Walt and Edd attempted to attack her as Ellie hid, but were both cut down by the elf. Now left utterly alone in the shambles of their old hideout, Ellie hops on Skunkwood's stolen horse and makes for the east road. There is nothing left for her in Bree. She eventually joins the Iron Garrison in an attempt to get her life back on track, and Ciriondil ends up taking her under his wing (and eventually adopting her) (we love found family here <3).
Rodigrin
River-Hobbit minstrel. oh hey finally an OC who isn't of the race of Man! Turns out I do have more than one of those! He's an unusually adventurous Hobbit who struck out from home in search of adventure! While traveling through the Lone-Lands he happens across Ellie and decides to tag along with her to this "Iron Garrison" expedition she mentioned, partially out of curiosity as to what adventures might be found there, and partially out of concern for this sassy lost child who really shouldn't be traveling alone anyway.
There are others, but they're far less developed so I'll probably post about them when I know more about them lol. also it's late and I wanna go to bed
