My Tagging System

Hello! I am posting my tag system so that I can pin it and actually know what my tagging system is. I am pretty inconsistent with it, and this sheet is very much a work in progress. I will probably make it easier on the eyes at some point, but right now I am a little unsure about how I want to format it. Many of my tags aren't included on this post. I'll just add them as they come up, and at some point I might go back through my older posts to figure it out.

If I list a tag as "something OR another thing," it's because I use those two tags pretty interchangeably. If it's listed as "something AND another thing," it means that I (almost) always use those two tags together. At some point, I'll pick a single tag to use, but I can't be assed to do it right now.

ALSO! I don't have many content warning tags yet, but feel free to send me an ask if you would like one. Do note that I don't tag them as "cw [thing]" or "tw [thing]" or "[thing] tw" or "[thing] cw" or "/// [thing]" or whatever other format. I'll just tag it as "[thing]" because I feel that makes it much easier to block, and it also makes the tags useful for searching for things along with blocking things.

I know that realistically you can only fit so many movies into a list of approximately 100, but I cannot take that "How many of tumblr's favorite movies have you seen?" list that's been going around seriously because there are some truly egregious omissions.

Some of it is very clearly recency bias, which makes me wonder if the op truly wasn't on here in 2013 or so, but you're telling me you made a list of "tumblr's favorite movies" that doesn't include Pacific Rim or Mad Max: Fury Road? Because, like, I was there, Gandalf.

I'm a ridiculous human and genuinely couldn't sleep until I tried my hand at a better, more balanced list -- though of course, I have my own biases when it comes to what corners of this website I've lurked in over the years. For what it's worth, I did consult the last several Years In Review, while also drawing on the fact that I've been here for over a decade. But if there's anything that truly doesn't feel like it should have made the cut, blame my mutuals for putting it on my dash all the time.

(And apologies, but I couldn't seem to find Goncharov among the website's listings)

This series of events is really funny to me! I was hanging out with a friend of mine last night, and he said he could see my mustache beginning to fill in a bit. I was delighted, obviously, and went to bed beaming.

This morning, I was like, "Ah! Shit! I may be in pube-stache territory! Ought I to shave?" So, while I was meeting up with a friend of mine whom I can trust to be bluntly honest, I was like, "Hey, ought I to shave?" and he confirmed that I should. Which is still very exciting!!! Like, eek!!! I get to do shaving now. :D

My other thought on Severance is that the blue/red/green thing reminds me a lot of The Matrix. I can't decide if I've simply watched The Matrix too many times or if it is intentional (I think it very well could be), but red seems to be associated with the outies (at least in the intro animation), blue with Lumon (eg. their lanyards), and green... doesn't have as strong of a symbolic meaning/association to me, but there is a lot of green in their offices. I'll figure it out, I guess.

Anyway, I think the red/blue thing is interesting in terms of... Mark has a white button-down, Dylan has a light blue one, and Irving has a darker blue one. Helly generally doesn't wear blue (but she did when she left the break room), and it feels worth noting that she's a redhead? I just checked and, like, yeah she has her light blue skirt, but that doesn't show up in as many shots. I'm going to ignore it.

Also, now that I think of it, Mark's book is also red, while the handbook is blue.

#also Petey's robe is red and blue striped

#credit to my wife for noticing

#had to make an account just to tell you this

YES!!! OH MY GOD I HAD NOTICED THIS ONE AS A BIG, VERY SIGNIFICANT ONE, AND IT SLIPPED MY MIND WHEN I MADE THIS POST!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TAKING THE TIME TO MAKE AN ACCOUNT TO REMIND ME!!!

He's stuck between both worlds, and his robe totally reflects that!!!

obi-wan and anakin are literally. he's your brother. he's your son. he's your best friend. he's your dad. you practically raised each other. you don't share secrets because you don't want the other to be disappointed. you want to tell him everything. you want to tell him nothing. you're half of one whole. you couldn't bring yourself to kill him even after everything. you could kill him, but it probably killed you. you want to make each other suffer. you love each other. more then anything, you love each other.
