something that’s so important to me as someone who has suffered a lot of abuse, psychological damage, blah blah etc is that kaz and inej are always so safe with each other.

not only do they have full trust in each other that neither would hold doubt for at any moment, full mutual understanding, respect, and affinity, but they are also the love of each other’s life and would protect and look out for each other at all costs. they can always fall back on each other, they would always come to each other, crawl to each other, and fight their way out together, and follow each other literally to the ends of the earth. nothing could tear them apart, their love would resist the seas, the city, and anything else that may physically stand between them. they’re inseparable partners, friends, and lovers—twin soldiers.

the worst thing both kaz and inej could imagine would be something bad happening to the other, or them suffering. they constantly enable each other, they rely on each other, and they get violent and unpredictable when the other is hurt or in danger, abandoning all else to make sure that they’re safe. they have such a desperation and desire for the other and would go through any lengths to be together. also the fact that kaz and inej are one of the first fictional relationships whose relationship is not dependant on physical intimacy or to which physical intimacy is difficult and therefore unnecessary will always mean a lot to me

the darkling had a lot of repetitive phrases he used when he was manipulating people. this has been said before, but he says “you and i are going to change the world.” a LOT. like bro please get a new line we’re all tired of your bullshit

he also uses the argument of grisha aging against people. he points out to alina that she’ll outlive mal, and points out to nikolai that zoya will outlive him. in both of these situations, he wanted the couples separated. he kept scaring them by making them think of losing each other.

and idk i think that’s interesting.
