My favorite smart Shawn moment that I haven’t seen anyone talk about was in the alien episode in S5e3. It was during the part where everyone in the station was laughing at Shawn for believing in aliens and thinking he’s an idiot, and Henry, Lassie and Juliet were telling him that he was making a fool of himself or whatever when Shawn turned the desk fan on and spilled papers all over the place, and he kept trying to pick them up but they just kept going everywhere and they told him to leave.

And I remember when I first watched that scene feeling a huge wave of second-hand embarrassment for Shawn until he walked away with Gus only to reach inside his jacket and pull out really important papers for the case that they didn’t want him to have.

HE DID THAT ON PURPOSE‼️ I fucking love it when he uses the way everyone views him to his advantage. Makes me go absolutely feral.

Also! I’m obsessed with early season Shawn pretending to order a pizza very loudly only to take photos of the important case files whenever they turned away. Like one of those “don’t get caught” games.
