The below post is not how psychology works on either point. Like...it absolutely does not. If you think counseling and psychology are just throwing illness labels at someone then you aren't familiar with the field or the codes of ethics. This falls into the same faulty logic as everyone on tiktok self-diagnosing without actually knowing anything about the field OR the DSM.

I cannot impress upon you how much the second point in particular is SO WILDLY off base; licenses would be taken away if someone diagnosed a client with schizophrenia in those situations.

This post is harmful and may dissuade people from receiving help.

love to sit behind my cat and give him teeny shoulder rubs like he just got back from a long day at the office

I think Black Sails is a good example of flawed characters vs flawed writing like. The universe of the show is harsh towards women, most of the men are violent, misogynistic, pirate drunks, who the minute Eleanor is in a more vulnerable position are like "she never deserved the position anyway" and YET the narrative is SO KIND towards women (and other less privileged people)? The narrative SHOWS them as smart, strong, vulnerable flawed beings with their own goals? Shows their mistreatment and pain as being PAINFUL and not sexy?

I don't know how it fucking does it, I haven't figured it out yet

Is the youths negative perception of Israel due to antisemitism or is it because israeli soldiers posted themselves on tiktok wearing palestinian women's lingerie 🤔

Is it antisemitism or is it the mangled bodies of palestinian children? Is it antisemitism or videos of soldiers making light of blowing up a school or mosque? Is it watching their government approve weapons transfers to Israel to attack a strip of land full of people with no capability to defend themselves? Is it antisemitism or the articles coming out that israeli soldiers admit running their tanks over people, using palestinian captives as human shields in buildings, or admitting they killed children? It's a tough call honestly

Is it antisemitism or is it simply recognizing that Palestinian lives (Arab lives and people of color lives in general) are human lives and being able to have empathy for them?

Is it antisemitism or is it recognizing settler colonialism and its violence against indigenous people, seeing ourselves and so many other people in the Palestinian struggle for liberation?

tips on what to say when someone says they have a seafood allergy:

if you care for them, you can say, "thank you for informing me--i won't have seafood near you"

if you hate them, you can say, "my shrimpathies"
