//II S1 REMAKE SPOILERS (even though there's like barely anything to spoiler)

I'm trying to be so polite about this and if you don't want to hear me 'complain' and the such, then i recommend you stop reading here, but like. What was the point of making this remake? It seems to just be inanimate season one but with the modern show's humor/voice acting. Which isn't bad... but when you're working on a season four later in the year, why would you split your resources to make a project which just wasn't necessary?

The episode was fine, not trying to say it was bad! It just seems pretty useless to me. Season one's whole charm was it's low, amateurish quality. A remake of it to me feels like going against the season's biggest selling point. If they remade the original BFDI in TPOT's writing and animation style, would it be bad? Not at all! But it would be a pointless project because the first season could stand as it's own. (Granted, I do think there's some worth in revising some of the more poorly aged jokes! ...that doesn't mean revising ALL the jokes though.)

You might say 'isn't this a bit of an overreaction for one episode?', but it's really not the episode which is the problem for me! I just think the whole concept of the remake is flawed.

Also, just don't like the little references/changes to fit in with future seasons, (nickel's S1 bug status... where are you... your whimsy.... come back to me...) but that's probably me just hating to hate at that point lol

tpot 16 spoilers ramble (pillow mostly)

the episode was... fine! not bad, i guess. but what i do wanna shout out is how this was probably one of pillow's best episodes! (which thank goodness because she's probably getting booted next)

in a good chunk of tpot, i feel like she's been used as just pure chaos, barely being any logic behind it because "hehehe funny pillow blow up bomb, team gotta stop her!". it gets to this point where she's really annoying, and honestly a disservice to a character i felt was pretty fun in bfb. its just weird how her research gimmick just kinda comes and goes whenever the writers feel like it would be funny? idk, tpot pillow isn't really my favorite character if you can't tell.

in tpot 16, i feel like they ACTUALLY tried to give a logical reason as to why she chose to do what she did. wow! of course, i don't think it would be fair to say "oh she 100% knew X would suggest making her a seeker", but i DO think it makes sense for her plan to be to stay behind and mess up the other teams hiding spots (given her whole "i like causing problems :3" shtick)

its a great way to use her! she's helping her team in a way unique to her while still being a troublemaker who doesn't really care about going along with whatever the rest of CloudYay is planning. we COULDVE had this in the climbing episode too, but ig pillow eating donut jokes are just too funny!

still a murderer, but hey, at least she has a justified REASON this time. cant say like... most of the other ones have one lol

im also a HUGE fan of the snowball pillow scene because: 1. she's pretty funny in this scene! the whole episode, really

2. her research gimmick is back again! and i really like how its used, woah! i feel like a lot of times in the past, her 'research' was just "if i kill someone... do they die? :0", so its such a breath of fresh air that its used in a way that DIDNT end with a 'pillow kills someone' punchline.

also big fan of how they let her be more expressive.

really good episode for her! ...which makes it a shame that she is not surviving the cloudyay purge. at least she goes out on a high note!

at the very least i can live in solace knowing that the ending would've been ass anyway (fireball winning... bro). wishing everyone the best! (not the asshole, obviously idc what happens to him)
