hullo CSMP community, i've been working on a CSMP OC art challenge!
how this works:
- design a character based in the CSMP universe! this may be a persona or any original character :]
- fill in their details! who are they, who are their allies, what do they keep in their pockets? feel free to use any blank space to sneak us morsels of lore ๐
- link back to this template and tag your post with #CSMPsona!
i've also separated the assets and backgrounds in this google drive folder so you can customize your template as you'd like! (e.g. changing text color, backgrounds, or reusing assets like the moth design)
also: we have a spreadsheet of everyone's boundaries set up!! if you're interested in anything like OCxCanon, you'll definitely want to check this out.

It's real, yeah, we sang it in primary school pretty much every year. Basically it's a joke about reindeers not faring well in Aussie summers, so Santa's sleigh gets six white kangaroos instead.
There are a *lot* of Australian themed Christmas songs, actually.

Wormwood likes shouting, being loud, shouting, challenging people to turn-based battles that it cheeses, thinks supercomputers are REALLY HOT, and is around 150mb in filesize.

I have the double convenience of being a Tinker introject and having studied The Odyssey, so I have considered the parallels often.
I actually had not considered the concept of Odysseus/Ulysses losing those he'd tried to keep alive, though I do find it very interesting, and by all counts it makes perfect sense. There were two different things I had considered.
The first of these two being The House and Ithaca, home of Odysseus. The Odyssey's story, from Book 5 to Book 17, is of Odysseus' return home after ten years of war and ten years of being stuck on an island. Whilst Tinker/Ulysses cannot return home like Odysseus does, I found the parallel between wanting to go home but being unable to, being trapped elsewhere, to still be a reasonable one.
The second was between Hope/Cast and Penelope. Penelope is the wife of Odysseus, but we'll remove that romantic context from the parallel. More than anything, Penelope is what Odysseus wants to return home to. When they are finally reunited, they are changed from the 20 years of separation and turmoil. In the same sense, the difference between Hope and Cast is distinct, even in looks alone. The same stands for Tinker: gray, scarred, and with a metal hand. Though the same on a fundamental level, they are very different people before and after the time they spend apart.
I do hope this makes some sense, especially for how long it is. I did enjoy writing it all out. :)

Oh wow! Yeah, I never really considered the Hope half of the equation... trying to find a home/person that doesn't exist in more than one way...
Especially poignant if you consider that one of the people he wishes survived is the Vessel-- while VV's actual life remains in superposition OOC, Tinker is *convinced* he is dead. Why? Uh, I have to finish up that minific/excerpt of longform.
In a way, Ulysses too considers himself guilty of the death of Hope and Coda as a result of that. Coda isn't dead, perse, but everything that was the person Ulysses remembers is gone or broken. Much like how Cast is to Hope...
