I spoke to the landlord, and was assured I'd be protected bc my name is on the lease. He (landlord) has another apt available, but will only allow me and Squi to move there if I can come up with deposit and first month's rent.

I am chronically ill as well as mentally ill, and have been unable to work traditional jobs since 2020, and this has been weaponized against me repeatedly over the years.

I'll have Unlimited Commissions up in the shoppe. I also started a new Ko-Fi goal, which will be left up until I can move. I've contacted DSS as well, and they're able to help with ongoing rent and bills thru cash assistance til Section 8 and Disability come thru, but can't front a lump sum to help me move.

The lease is up in July, but the sooner I can move, the better.

Having rewatched Pirates of the Carribean several times, I have noticed something interesting. Will Turner is often the only survivor of massive shipwrecks, like the one that killed his mother or the one with the kraken. Other times even when hes alone he survives drowning in ways he really has no right to, like the destruction of the Interceptor. He just often conveniently finds a perfect sized piece of driftwood or something. Remember what Calypso said? About him having a “touch of destiny?” I think that the sea could never kill him, will always cradle him and protect him, because all along he was destined to be the captain of the Flying Dutchman. The sea could no more kill him than a human could cut off their own arm.

Basically, I don't think there's going to be an announcement that Tumblr is getting shut down. If the pattern we're seeing holds, I don't even think it's going to happen intentionally. I think Tumblr is going to go out like an early 2000s forum: they're just going to keep cutting the tech support budget until something goes wrong in a way that none of the remaining skeleton crew know how to repair, which could be tomorrow or three years from now. If it does happen, it's probably going to happen completely at random, so there's no point stressing out!
