I've got to write a bunch of conversations for this little text-based game (one with each character on each day), so I made myself a tracker to try and motivate myself to get through them!! Fingers crossed I will have a much more filled in version of this soon...
Versions of the characters that arent headless are here :P
Who's your favourite? :0
I've been messing around making a little game with INK! It's super fun even though I'm definitely not coding in a sensible or efficient way. Here are the little characters you can chat to :D
Game Report: Pony Island by Daniel Mullins
After loving Inscryption and The Hex, I of course had to check out the third of Mullins' "big" games. It totally met my expectations and I had a very fun afternoon with it!! Highly recommend
So happy to finally get this posted!!! I've got ideas for the whole rest of the song but that would be a huge undertaking so please leave some love on this/follow if you enjoyed it and would want to see more!!
It's late but here's a little round up at the end of 2024!! I am not a fast or frequent reader at the moment so I'm not setting any huge unrealistic goals for myself in 2025. Here are some things I've enjoyed and things I'm looking forward to! If you've enjoyed any of these titles please let me know! :D
Game Report: The Hex by Daniel Mullins
Since I enjoyed Inscryption so much, I grabbed Daniel Mullins' other games in the Winter Steam sale! I played through The Hex in one day and for such a small price it was WELL worth it and I had a great time playing!!
TV Report: Blue Eye Samurai
I'd heard great things about this series and it really delivered! More violent than my usual taste but I was compelled enough by the beautiful animation and the great characters to keep watching and I'm so glad that I did! Mizu is one of my favourite protagonists in a long time and I loved the way the genre was embraced - not running from the tropes, but using them in compelling ways.
That being said... spoilery rant below
[INSCRYPTION SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT PLAYED IT AND READ UP ON THE ARG'S CONCLUSION]

i think you might like aspects of my reading of the game given your post on Inscryption so i hope you don't mind this message.
my reading of the game is that you really Are the one playing the game, not Luke, because Luke is now long since dead. You're playing the game that P03 managed to upload to the internet, along with stray files that perhaps it or the old_data mashed in there. You are the one interacting with the characters and playing the game, just also seeing and hearing Luke's last moments like a lingering digital ghost. The character's memories and sense of time may also be scrambled a bit due to the old_data and the rush job that was p03's "great transcendence", thus mistaking you for Luke at certain times. But thats just my reading! I could be totally wrong lol. I just thought you may find it interesting to chew on so I wanted to share. :3
ooh, that is a super interesting way of looking at it !! thanks for sharing :o
Game Report: Inscryption by Daniel Mullins
I ADORED this game, even though I'm usually not one to enjoy deck builders or rogue-likes, and that's testament to the mastery of atmosphere, character, and storytelling on display here. This one's going to stick with me for a while, I can't recommend it enough!
Game Report: Return of the Obra Dinn
I had a couple of false starts with this game but I'm so happy I got stuck in and finished it this year! One of the coolest ways of balancing detective work in a game I've seen and without letting you completely guess your way to the answers. The awesome dither-punk visuals and stellar sound design gave it a consistent and immersive atmosphere. Highly recommend!
