"I'm so proud of you, Stanley."

An art trade/collab I did with @elishevart a whiiiile back. I colored it some months ago, but just shaded it today and decided to share.

For those wondering, yes this is a scene in Maternity Falls. I won't go into detail as it would be a big spoiler, but let's just say Stan had a score to settle with somebody.

Please do NOT tag as Stanc//t!

It has come to my attention

(tw discussion of proships below. I hate them, by the way, they freaking suck. I support platonic/familial love) (there is also art at the bottom of the post <3)

that SOME PERSON on this site INSULTED one of my favorite GF artists @artsymeeshee by accusing her of proshipping because of her STRICTLY PLATONIC (and listed as) FANART.

Filbrick Pines' treatment of and influence on Stan

From the moment we learn of him, we know this is what he thought of Stan

We know then Filbrick signed the twins up for boxing lessons and that Stan managed to take away a message of standing up for one's self... and then tried to impart that onto Dipper in the same way which just led the kid into thinking Stan hated him and it got to the point where he refused to save Stan from Bill. And while Dipper heard straight from Stan that he cares about him, Stan could only hope that his dad was trying to help in this case.

And then we have the jokes and beliefs that he picked up from his dad:

Both of them show both a distaste for marriage (and a lack of respect for Caryn) and the other has Filbrick blaming his kids for ruining his life.

A tidbit about Stan's handwriting in the Book of Bill

(I added random color coded underlines for ease of comparing letters but idk if it helps)

The moment I first saw Stan's letter, I realised that Lost-Pages!Ford had been using Stan's handwriting to specifically quote Bill

And in fact, its the same font Ford himself uses for his alt CAPITAL LETTERS FOR EMPHASIS font.

(Even if you're skeptical of the lost journal pages, I think it's safe to assume that the Pines family letters to the reader are as reliable as it gets and we have the second Ford letter using that font)

So after seeing this, I went "my god! Ford was writing in Stan's handwriting all this time!"

...or so I thought until I skimmed through my copy of Journal 3 and it turns out Ford used this more ominous font instead.

So. Okay. Then I assumed they simply switched it after creating Stan's handwriting for the new book. The old font was probably retconned and is unused-- but that's also wrong! It's right here in the first Ford letter!

Interestingly enough, this is how Bill's words were quoted in Journal 3 and the font's eeriness is pretty suitable.

--But giant tangent aside, I feel like its significant that Stan's handwriting is used this way when it's pretty distinct!!!

Stan's round handwriting tonally makes sense for early Lost Journal entries when Bill is tricking Ford, but it's almost jarring once we get to the betrayal section.

Bonus: Also here's 3 different capital letter fonts in one pic cos yeesh Ford keeps switching it up, what a drama queen, and yes the new book adds even more

Interestingly, BoB changes Ford's signature from cursive

to this

with the latter reminding me of

Don’t cry, Dipper, my precious baby.

"Abandon my Eulogy" by @aroace-get-out-of-my-face Really got me crying in the club today, genuinely stunning work I was glued to every WORD!!! like COME ON, that fic played like a movie I have so many scenes in my head from it!!

Bonus, because the electricity part really got me imagining things to cope (Teehee) But I had the thought that after that amount of voltage he'd be a bit of a barbecue

The Inconveniencing

17 Again AU: After a disastrous first day with the twins, Stan swears to do better as an uncle. But fate loves playing tricks on him and the magic 8-ball in the attic is more than it seems.

Now on top of having a pair of twelve year olds around the house while he tries to finish the portal and bring his brother home, Stan has to deal with being back in his seventeen year old body! Summer has never been weirder in Gravity Falls.

I had this other idea in mind recently, of a Gravity Falls Brother Bear AU. It may seem insulting to Inuit and Aleut culture given that the Stan twins are jewish. So Sherman Pines would be Sitka, Ford is Denahi, and Stan is Kenai, with Dipper and Mabel sharing the role of Koda.

along with the tv interview, i honestly really prefer the deleted scenes version of scaryoke, but i get why they changed it to show stan working on the portal more and him giving back the journal because he knows there's no way he can keep it hidden from dipper for long

but dangit i want more drama focusing on the journals and author with all the dramatic irony in full force!!!

Stanley tried to burn the journal, yeah? You with me?

Now, he gives up and takes the journal- he takes it as far away as he can but BUT he dies in a fire. Maybe his car burned down...

And even tough it didnt have any special protection, apart from the corpse hugging it protectively, the only thing that survived was the journal. Eerily without as much as a scratch...

AU where Dipper and Mabel go to their Great Uncle Stanfords house for the summer. It's uncomfortable to say the least. They can tell Grunkle Ford is trying his best, but he doesn't have any food in his house, they're not allowed to touch anything, they have to wear these strange glittery rainbow bracelets- Mabel was ecstatic! Dipper not so much. They spend most of their time out in the woods and eventually Ford hires Soos to watch them- keep em safe, yknow?

It's a boring first week of straying further and further into the woods, away from the creepy house, away from their awkward uncle. It's a boring first week- until the lumberjacks daughter tells them about an old, charred car wreck they say is abandoned deep in the woods, protected by the very forest itself.

Summer gets a whole lot less boring after that.

I ALREADY HAVE TOO MANY FICS OH GOD….but the fic demons…..they’re calling……
