Aight, so a suspect has been caught. In the next couple of days we’re going to be bombarded with a cavalcade of information about Luigi Mangione. As we start this period I want everyone to remember:
The killer--whether he is Mangione or another man--is a living, breathing, human being. He has followed people you don’t like, held beliefs you disagree with, and possibly voting for politicians you think suck.
He still shot a man with the blood of millions on his hands. He still caused an outpouring of rage that caused BCBS to roll back its ghoulish anesthesia policy.
Carve that into your fucking minds. Mass media is about to do its damnedest to remind us to hate each other, not the top .001%. Do not let them do this. Y’all understand what I’m saying? Here, lemme spell it out more clearly:
DO NOT FUCKING PURITY TEST THIS GUY, ASSHOLES!!
And if you see people fixating on his purity over the message he sent, call them out on it.
We have lost again and again and again on healthcare because we keep letting the rich divide us. Remember: the people united will never be defeated.
Edit: A couple of people have asked me to not convict Mangione in my post, and they're right. Mangione has been arrested on gun charges, not for the murder, and regardless of the charge he obviously hasn't been convicted yet. It's too soon to lay Brian Thompson on his head. I've modified the post to reflect that.
That said, what I've said here applies to whoever the killer is. As the media circus plays out, a lot of talking heads will be pulling out all stops to remind us to hate each other, not the insurance CEOs. Do not fall for their tricks!
yeah that's another thing he actually caused them to undo that horrifying HORRIFYING plan for anesthesia, so he already had a positive effect beyond merely removing that one CEO. Keep scaring the shit out of the actual bad guys, keep reminding them that they're so hated, the public will glorify someone for killing them, and maybe more things will change.

- connecting humanity - securing internet access via donations of virtual sim cards (esims). if you can't afford a whole plan yourself, crips for esims is a communal pool that will use your donation to purchase and maintain esims
- gaza soup kitchen - provides food, medical care, and classes for children. also has a gofundme
- glia gaza medical support initiative - provides medical care through field clinics and tents at hospitals. donations can also be sent through their website.
- ele elna elak - provides clean water, food, clothing, and shelter. they also have a gofundme
- life for gaza - raising money for the gaza municipality to repair water and waste management infrastructure
- taawon - partners with local civil organizations to provide food, water, medical care, shelter, and basic supplies
- the sameer project - running various initiatives providing tents, medical care, and necessities. they have their own encampment project focused on sheltering families with children, sick and disabled members, or members in need of perinatal care
- islamic relief worldwide's gaza emergency appeal - provides food, water, hygiene kits, medical supplies, and psychological support
- baitulmaal - provides a variety of necessities, including food, water, shelter, and medical supplies
- gaza mutual aid fund - distributes food, hygiene products, water, and other essential supplies, including financial support. run by @/el-shab-hussein's amazing friend Mona. updates can be found on her instagram.
- hygiene kits for gaza - provides hygiene supplies including menstrual products, wipes, and toothbrushes/toothpaste
- anera - provides a variety of necessities, including food, water, hygiene supplies, medicine, blankets and mattresses, and psychological care
- palestine children's relief fund - provides supplies and support with a focus on children. also has an initiative for lebanon
