"what are your hobbies?" yearning. "what would you say is your biggest weakness?" yearning. "what are your goals?" yearning. "how do you handle stress?" yearning. "what motivates you?" yearning. "where do you see yourself in five years?" yearning. "what is the salary you'd expect?" yearni—

I feel like we really lost something when we started looking at writing as a reader-centric product meant to appeal to the desires of a specific audience rather than a writer-centric approach of someone writes whatever particular thing particular compels them/whatever weird thing the demons in their head want to talk about, and people out there who are also compelled, and/or relate, find that writing. A lot of discussions of writing really center around what readers want rather than a writer's exploration. Sometimes as a reader I don't know what I want. I click on a fic or pick up a book I'm not sure about but that looks interesting, and I love it. Reading what I expect to get is it's own joy, but we always need to expand our horizons and not get mad at creators for not always writing what we want/expect.

The devastating difference between how much time it takes to write something vs how fast people read it lol

you're falling in the trap!! it will be read by many people, many times, and it will live on in their memories. and maybe no single other human will match you in time spent dedicated to your story, but as a collective we will outlast you. acts of creation only grow when they are shared

This. Writing is not like dinner. It can be consumed many times

the knight!shouyou x princess!reader dynamic is going to consume me, tbh.

"i forbid you to die, do you hear me?" you clutch at the silken material of your skirts, silently cursing at the tender flesh it covers, wishing iron and scales into existence though you know it's a helpless, hopeless ask, an ache settling in your chest as hinata watches you with soft, warm eyes.

he drops to one knee, the clank of his armor cracking against stone, sharp and solid as heartbreak.

"if that's what my princess commands."

he lowers his head, ever the willing apostle to his gold-crowned messiah. you reach forward to take his chin and force his eyes back up to meet yours.

"yes," you grit out, forcing back the hot prickle of tears as outside, the battle drum thumps like the baseline beat of a funeral march, "i command you to live, to come back to me in one piece or --" your voice fractures along the fault line of his crooked smile, his dark, adoring eyes.

"or you'll bring me back to life just to kill me yourself, right?" he asks, in a voice that's tender enough to bruise. you nod, pulling back, blinking furiously at anything but him as he pushes slowly back to his feet.

"i'll come back, princess, if you promise me one thing --"

your head whips around at the uncertain waver of his voice, so unlike him it makes your stomach flip. you're about to say something else before he grabs his sword and sheaths it with a sharp shink.

and when he looks back up, his voice is steady when he says --

"wait for me."

In case no one has told you this lately: thank you for being alive at the same time as me. I appreciate you so much. Thank you for surviving your worst days. Your existence is so important. Your feelings are valid. You deserve kindness from yourself and others. Don't ever forget how strong you have been and that you are deserving of love and happiness. Thank you for holding on. Thank you for still being here.

With my older sister who likes Link saying “I can’t imagine a cool Lavi” and my mum who likes Kanda saying “Lavi has one eye missing”, Lavi isn’t thought of highly* at my house. But because I can imagine a cool Lavi, it’s alright Lavi 🐰

Lavi: Graaamps!
