finished my re-read of the southern reach trilogy!!! it made me realize absolution is literally just authority Again. same exact manipulated spy man as main character being lost and confused the entire book and thats it. i also realized we learn nothing of area x in authority, its just control realizing the southern reach sucks and nothing makes sense. honestly if it weren't for ghost bird and whitby and grace and the directors absence presence there would be zero reason to read authority at all. annihilation and acceptance are perfect and amazing and i love them still.
