walking through the hallways of fandom and on the left i see people arguing about the characters as if the characters are real people (they're not), causing rifts in communities and friendships (that do contain actually real people); on the right i see people taking things Too Far and harassing each other to the point of threats of harm and doxxing (real living, breathing) human beings over fictional characters (not real), causing a considerable and potentially long-term negative impact on a (real, born into this world against their will and forced to live a life in which they go to fiction for catharsis or escape or enjoyment as they cope with the horrors of the world) human being's life over things that started over fictional characters (they don't exist, they've never breathed air, they were never born, never knew the touch of real wind on their face, never knew true happiness or sadness, nor the touch of a friend or the stab of an enemy, they remain encased forever in a place that never existed and will never exist); in front of me i see Judgment. Judgment. Judgment-- you must like the right things in the right ways or die (slowly, socially, gods help you, you will suffer), they will talk about you, your name (you, you, you) will echo endlessly, infamously, for being the Wrong person because you didn't like a (they were never alive, please, they have never known anything) fictional character in the right way, or liked the wrong one.
