as much as i love medical school, i really missed doing nothing all day but reading long novels, plays and essays on art and philosophy and such.
also, i repotted most of my plants yesterday and they look so much happier now ๐ฑ

All vintage books have two stories to tell
quiet autumn mornings in london ๐๐
I find these carrels with views over Bloomsbury completely irresistible. I had a really productive morning here looking through philosophy periodicals (and daydreaming about living in thoseย terraces)
ok so I was going to write a different caption for this but I honestly have no idea wtf Iโm doing right now lol.ย so far this quarter has been the busiest Iโve ever had- Iโm taking 19 credits (the highest Iโve ever taken), started working at my first internship, doing work with some community activist organizations, planning what my life is going to look like over the next year, not to mentionโฆ surviving during an election year in a global pandemic). needless to say, I am very tired.ย itโs all just a lot and last week I finally burnt out.ย
tbh it feels wrong to complain about everything Iโm doing because itโs all stuff that I genuinely love (other than analyzing founding father speeches for my communication of public address class) but I guess I really just have to keep reminding myself that work is work, and productivity isnโt admirable if you never take a break. you donโt have to earn the right to rest- whatโs important is that you prioritize it. my life will work itself out one way or another. everything is going to be okay. sending you lots of love xxx
thereโs major writing work happening today and iโm pleased to report the weather is fully cooperating (can you say โblizzardโ?). weโre accordingly in big cozy mode
Some late night research, itโs that kind of day.
having the sun coming through the window makes studying so much more enjoyable xo
Today is the final day to enter our Penguin Bookends giveaway. (See our IG post from yesterday.)
I read a lot of great books this month, mostly spooky romances and Murder mysteries ๐ฅ I love knowing what you guys are reading, I havenโt checked my messages for a while but Iโll go through them soon! I miss chatting books with you lot!! โบ๏ธ
So I just finished A Court of Mist and Fury (second book in the A Court of Thorns and Roses Series) and wow! This has quickly become my favourite book series just under Harry Potter (of course haha). I have never felt so emotionally invested in characters before, Iโm completely in love. The writing style is gorgeous and on a basic level the story provided me with a bit of escapism I didnโt realise I needed. I ended up relating to the book and Fayre in a way I didnโt feel possible when itโs a story about fairies haha but wow, this book helped me through a lot and I canโt wait to pick the third one up straight away. Please let me know your thoughts, Iโd love to chat with you guys about it but please no spoilers for the third one! โจ
THE REPLIES ON THIS POST CONTAIN SPOILERS - please donโt read them if you donโt wanna be spoiled for the second book ๐
