the easter bibly was an ingenious campaign that builds in social awareness and change to an ongoing annual tradition without detracting from what that tradition represents. the choice behind it was intentional
It also puts the bibly at the front and center, which is important, because bilby were once widespread in Australia, but due to the threat of habitat loss, disease, and predation by invasive species in Australia, like foxes, these little guys have dwindled in numbers.

Thinking about Kiga's secret for why her pawns are weak now that we know she's Death...
Like I'm playing with the thought that maybe her pawns are weak in the way that their correlation to death is weak/less direct but a primary feature.
Esp given that the guillotine doesn't presently exist as an execution tool and mainly as a historical artefact/prop for its horrors. Just like how falling is connected to death by gravity hence its nature as a primal fear, but it's also common in a non-lethal manner.
And obviously fire kills but is also widely used in everyday life for cooking, lighting, disposal etc. But also... for cremation.
Yoru being weakened as war somewhat plays into this given that the horror/context of war has been altered in Pochita's consumption of her. The concept of war remaining in works of fiction rather than the death that it brings.

shit ton of people are repeating the thing about hayao miyazaki saying AI art is an "insult to life itself" and just as a reminder he was talking about the zombies that team made that were intended to be scary in how much they shook, but instead reminded him of his disabled friend. the insult to life itself was referring to the team trying to make scary real symptoms that people live with.

one week knowing the character VS 7 months being possessed by The Character thoughts (# 1 character fan)
Been thinking about Fumiko's parfait mention alongside the sushi (excess/opulence through food) compared to the steak and its connection to Kiga's menu order for a while now.
Could be reaching but thinking about correlation of Kiga's food choices.
Fumiko as subject of Denji's hunger and Kiga as imitation of Denji's hunger for excess to savour the indulgence, simplicity and despair of Denji's life (toast, fruit, cake, ice cream, breakfast food)
Fumiko raises the bar of the steak (Denji's highest goal from ch.93) with the sushi and daily parfait, non-essential and costly overtime in its accumulation for satiation. This alongside her raising the bar for Denji's membership in the CSM church from Miri's offer + Miri's boasting of having steak every day.
Her representation of the thirst of the csm fandom going past Miri's offer of satisfactory glory and purpose in joining the church. Steak is a luxury too, but it can be good enough of a meal on its own as Denji's personal desire which Miri believes can be met by joining the church.
But as we see in the following chapters, satisfying Denji's personal desire is not enough to quell the public's desire for Chainsaw Man and he finds himself and the normal life taking the place of his dream, consumed by his fandom.
And with the Kiga Death reveal we see this consumption motivated and enacted with the context of death. The death of Denji's loved ones leading to the death of the public's loved ones and back to him through his fandom as Nayuta's head on the sushi belt.
Esp. when we see the contrast in Denji stating his preference for Chinese food, the cheaper option to the steak that he can't have every day, as he talks about being content as a chair as his normal life with Nayuta. + the included ice cream mention tying back to him throwing up the popsicle in ch.80 when he realises what he lost in his normal life through his reckoning with Aki's death.
The way Kiga's order presents the food that punctuates Denji's dream and his life moments through p1 as desserts too in their fancy glory and sweetness, deterrence from bitterness (Makima's tiramisu and rebooting of Denji's dream as reward)
Cake and ice cream pointing to Denji's grief of Power's and Aki's death respectively.
Death of family leading to emptiness to be filled through craving of excess, Makima manufactures excess from Aki's death and Kiga orchestrates Nayuta's death through manufactured excess.
That this chapter where Kiga makes her order is where Falling makes her debut is fitting too in her presentation of trauma as food to be served.
Makima and Kiga's shared consumption of Denji's dream to fill themselves from what their nature deprives them.

Maybe this makes me sound like a crazy person but the more time passes the more I’m convinced that the way someone reacts to furries is a litmus test for what kind of person they are. And I feel pretty justified in this bc conservatives have made them part of their culture war. Like you’ve got mainstream media convincing a bunch of boomers of the litter boxes in schools hoax. It’s just another iteration of moral panic over society becoming degenerate or whatever. Obv not everyone who’s shitty about furries is doing it for hitlerite reasons but I think it shows how easily a person can become comfortable being cruel to socially and/or sexually deviant groups of people if it’s socially acceptable to do so, or how easily they can be pressured into that cruelty by a fear of ridicule
