me every time tumblr fucks something up and ppl are upset abt it: USE XKIT !!!!! PLEASE !!! xkit has a fix for Everything

truly i cannot sing enough praises for xkit. i get it, if you're out of the house / blogging on the job mobile is easier but, i am BEGGING ppl to start blogging from desktop at home. desktop is your friend!! you can literally customize EVERYTHING abt tumblr with extensions on desktop.

hate the twitter-esque desktop UI layout? go back to the old layout with Stylus.

want to completely customize your dash's color palette? get Palettes for Tumblr.

want no ads? no suggested post? no blazed posts? better quick reblog / queue / draft features? better accessibility features? and so much more? GET XKIT REWRITTEN!

tumblr desktop will forever be superior. it is thee most ideal way to experience tumblr. you can also SEE posts so much better. all that cool art, those cool gifs, and everything else is not condensed to phone-size!

🌟 New

  • We have refined post headers and footers in the iOS app. On the web, only the headers have been refined so far, with footer changes on the way. And, in the Android app, both changes are still on the way.
  • To reduce tech debt, we made the difficult decision to remove the fast queue feature. We know this was beloved by a small cohort of active users, but usage is too low for us to justify continued development.Β To be clear: queuing still exists and will be maintained; this only affects the fast queue feature.
  • We have revamped the filters of the Activity column inΒ PatioΒ to help you stay on top of what matters to you.

  • We fixed an issue where the β€œnot interested” items under a post’s meatballs menu might not have been working for some folks.
  • We fixed an issue that prevented joining a community via an invite link.
  • We fixed a missing background when Activity is loaded as a column in Patio.

  • No ongoing incidents to speak of right now.

  • No upcoming launches to announce today.

Deeply sad about losing fast queue 😭😭😭 it is integral to how I run multiple of my blogs 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

wait just gonna add my tags to the post in case other ppl want to use it:

#i know most ppl are on mobile these days but! xkit has a quick queue feature #it's a quick reblog / queue / draft tiny window that pops up when you hover over the reblog button #and you can add tags directly in that little window too #never leaving the dash

it looks like this:

you can also select which blog you want to reblog / queue / draft the post to via the drop down menu

also there has been many iterations of xkit over the years, i am using the latest one, xkit Rewritten. to add this feature, turn on the "Quick Reblogs" function:

and as you can see there's lots you can customize, like also adding and automatic tag for all your reblogged or queued posts, like mine is just "q" so any posts i queue with this quick queue fuction will auto tag as "q"

and the "remember which posts i've reblogged" is also handy and will have the reblog icon permanently highlighted for a certain amount of time (i have it set to remember my last 10,000 reblogs)

anyways, xkit is SO useful and does a lot of really really great things.

I would loved to have had Harper Sayles become a reoccurring character who just breezes in every once in a while and tries to kill Jack, always failing, but becomes this ongoing dance/running joke between them. The necromancer who fell in love/lust with an effectively unkillable creature.

Like they’re just working a case and she fucking runs him over with a whole ass car, and he just pops up from the wreckage like, β€œπŸ«¨whoa! Are you okay?β€”Oh, hello Harper. βœ‹πŸ™‚β€ And she just, β€œβ€οΈπŸ‘„β€οΈβœ¨Hi Jack. Did you miss me?”

Or they’ll be at a diner and he’ll be like, β€œhuh. My food kinda tastes kinda funny.” *looks over to see Harper behind the counter holding rat poison in her hand like; β€œβ˜ οΈπŸ˜˜β€ And Jack: β€œβœ‹πŸ˜€β€
