Ahaha got you again, which is perfect given what we like🤗
So my computer's been wonky so at first I did some pixel art but then remembered the size restrictions so then I tried to work on my computer anyway but then it does so I whipped this out but I promise that there will be more Davepeta coming! 😝
Distressing realization: my troll designs mean that human/troll hybrids come out looking like humanimals (appropriate), and I have to carefully thread the needle that they don't look like racist caricatures too (not at all appropriate) :/. Will have to work on it.

Thank you! It was interesting to figure out what combo of traits to go with so that you get a nice mix. I feel like they look more like Nepeta but also more human than troll in this, so *shrug*

It's true! There really hasn't been much xeno stuff since the gigapause, and I've seen maaaybe 2 or 3 people interpret Davepeta through that lens. Sadface.
Thanks :) Trying to get that texture right. I typically draw Dave as an albino black man, so both texture and colour were key here. Especially since flipping them turnways to the left made me hecka confused about how his hair even works since I didn't flip the bangs.

Heck yeah man, natural human diversity for the win here, there's plenty of references for/of people with cleft lips and palates so I tried to do them justice. I figure Nepeta was unlikely to have gotten surgery for it living in a cave on Alternia.
I'm of the opinion that all of the players expressed some kind of unusual phenotype variation that would (at least on the trolls' planets) be classed as a mutation, though I have not decided on which for everyone yet. I would depict Nepeta with a cleft palate even without that though. Makes sense to me as something that would be simplified into a :3 kitty face.

Exquisite Biome with Bakageta - Freds
@Bakageta on tumblr and I played a 3-round game of Exquisite Biome, which was a blast and I would recommend checking it out! Here is the first species we created, Fred! Freds are a species of hyper-omnivores from a black tundra. The majority of the time freds are in hibernation; adults, juveniles, and eggs alike buried in cryostasis far under the ice. When the local semi-dormant volcano enters a heat cycle however, it warms up hotspots enough for the ice to melt and an amphibious plague emerges to gobble up everything that can fit in their maws. Which is not overly much for the average fred; but for those rare few that survive predation, reproduction, and the elements long enough to make it through to a cold cycle and out the other side, those numbers start to add up. With each cycle survived and its attendant growth spurt from the warm season glut, freds grow increasingly larger and larger. Though few and far between, the eldest freds are truly massive monsters of jrpg boss proportions. Freds opt for a "run and hide" style of defense, able to briefly glide from the cliffs of the caldera for an effective bit of distance with the aid of their dorsal sails. These same sails can spread wide both to absorb what heat they can from the sun and help conceal a hiding fred against the black rock and ice around them.
Red Panda Paddle
A tradition in my family is to gift painted paddles for big events/formal additions to our family. We get together and paint the paddle with something meaningful for the giftee. Who does what varies, though my dad is usually on varnish duty. IIRC I was the one who chose the reference pictures, drew the design onto the paddle, and maybe the one who finished up the tail? I'm not sure about that though.
GHB Sketch
Sketch for my GHB piece for the Makara/Purple edition of the Bloodlines zine. It was interesting trying to make him look Absolutely Massive while not straying into what I consider to be Zahaak or Maryam territory. And I think the end result, which is a mixture of jacked and twiggy, worked quite well in the context of what fanon thinks a Makara should look like, too.
