The Art Deco Dude

Art Deco photographs I've personally taken from around the world. Feel free to link to other tumbler/ fb accounts. I'm trying to get it out there so we can all appreciate Art Deco more and hopefully preserve all of it that is in danger.

Detail of the metal crown on Walker Tower (originally the Bell Telephone Exchange Building. 212 18th Street, #NewYorkCity , #NewYork #ArtDeco Architect: #RalphWalker . Verizon still operates in parts of the building and the rest were converted into luxury condos. This metal crown was not part of the original construct but was added on when doing the 2012 condo conversion, HOWEVER they were based on Ralph Walker's original plans for the building that never came to fruition (most likely due to cost limitations, since the depression was in full swing). Built 1929-1930. 📸: me/10/2023

I just wanted to say how much I enjoy your posts. I love art deco! Keep doing a great job. You're sharing places and buildings I will probably never see in person. Thank you.

Thanks, I appreciate your kind words.

It was time for my annual eye exam at the #ArtDeco Linden’s Optometry, so that means I have to walk by what was a United Artists Theatre 🎭 in Pasadena on Colorado Boulevard. In the past it was Angeles School Supply for many years but now it is a Sweetgreen. 📸:me/03/2025

Dropped off the RAV4 PRIME at the dealer for scheduled oil change. Where in City of Orange 🍊 to have breakfast? YES, THIS WILL DO NICELY. #ArtDeco #CityofOrange #OldTowne
