Hey, I'm Ben. Just a 29-yo guy taking life one day at a time.

the problem with autism is sometimes you want to do something (brave) but you need someone to gently walk you through each step so you know what will happen. and people don’t like doing that

i had to phone a taxi today, scary

every time i see this post i think of that person who posted on reddit that they wanted to go to subway for the first time but they were scared they would say the wrong thing so someone gave them step by step instructions for the entire process and what all the choices would be and when they would ask what question and i just think

someone will

someone out there will see you and say "yes. the world is scary. but let me hold your hand and show you how to do it anyways"

everyone needs that someone, and everyone can be that someone

The subreddit r/explainlikeimscared is a surprisingly good resource for this. People are always very kind and thorough from what I've seen, and I spend a decent amount of time there giving walkthroughs and answering questions when I know the process.

SHARING TO HELP SOMEONE ELSE OUT!

where's that masterpost of quotes that have no right going as hard as they do. I'd like to submit "Protagonism is best left to teens and the insane"

Every time I consider making a sandwich I think of this fucking tweet.

The stupid thing is that it puts me in the mindset of being an NPC looking forward to a balanced, delicious, good-looking sandwich, instead of some vegemite half-heartedly smeared between a couple of bits of bread. So now I'm like "well if my goal is Sandwich, it should be a good sandwich". I mean it's gotta look good in the thought bubble right? Some guy wandering around in a computer game would be imagining a picture of a ham and cheese toastie AT MINIMUM, probably with tomato and some greens in there. Possibly he'd imagine a full on sub sandwich.

I have started putting actual effort into making tastier, prettier sandwiches. Because of this fucking tweet.

imagine if doorways grew back like scabbed over with fresh drywall and you had to keep carving them back out with a jabsaw to keep the doorway clear etc

Imagine if the membranes recoiled in pain every time you did this. Imagine if over time, some doorways became accustomed sensation. Imagine that very rarely, some even seemed to enjoy it.

*sleepover host voice* imagine if you two went to sleep

Oh for gods sake kids it’s like piercing an ear - that’s why you put a doorframe in - you don’t hang a door in drywall, you gremlins. You frame the door. It’s like those gauges that people put in their ears - the hole stays. It won’t scab over with a doorframe in it. You’ve lived around doors you whole life, you little clowns. Lights out

Oh my goodness what an honor to be Calvin’s dad

What if the world… Were minecraft

I’m on page nine right now and this book is fucking weird like…ill admit I skimmed some of the Minecraft fan books and they just tried to be like fantasy novels but in minecraft land but this dude in here is like “uh the dirt is square and I have logs for arms” I can’t tell if this is genius or what

The guy is pissed that he’s punching the grass and can’t grab it

He Contemplates the Flat Apple

This dude is talking about how shit he breaks becomes like flat objects and he stacks them in his pocket like playing cards this is fucking

This is what I’m reading btw

Shut the FUCK up Max Brooks wrote this?

seeing ‘max brooks, bestselling author of world war z’ attatched to ‘minecraft’ was like feeling a sledgehammer being swung into my balls at maximum speed and power

i have this book, it’s pretty good because unlike most minecraft novelizations it’s written from the perspective of someone who doesn’t know shit or fuck about minecraft

Jack Black did the audiobook and listening to it is a spiritual experience

Could this be a clue to the puzzle that is the Minecraft movie?

i feel like we as a digital society have forgotten the important rules of the internet
