Ghost Queen Fu is based on the King of Ghost Zhong Ku, a Taoist deity who has a command of demons and spirits. Since I was reading Tian Gu Ci Fu at the time which has there own version of a Ghost King with Hua Cheng, I decided to take liberties as well with Fu!
A similar origin to Zhong Kui, Fu served as an introduction to underworld forces in the world and lore of Xiaolin Showdown.
In the story I had envisioned, she has a history with Wuya and made a pact with Dashi to aid him in the witch’s defeat.
But, Dashi had tricked Fu, leaving a pact unfulfilled and Fu with a grudge on Xiaolin.
In the present day of the story- the batty queen of ghosts has grudges with the present monks for what Dashi did, Wuya for escaping her capture, Hannibal for his crimes in the underworld and Chase for making a deal with Hannibal.
The only one she’s neutral towards is Jack and even then she dismisses him as a silly boy who can be easily manipulated. But, hey, at least she’s nicer to him than most of the cast is
