> ABOUT ME .

-> hello! i am aurae/rori, also known as chronically cooking to many. i am genderfluid, a minor, and i leave my current pref pronouns in my bio.

-> this is a multifandom blog, i tag all my reblogs with their characters, and sometimes i don't name the fandom that they're in. eg: i will tag something as 'aventio', but not 'hsr', sometimes. speaking of, my current interests revolve around hsr, zzz, ender magnolia/ender lilies, the life series, and a couple of anime here and there.

-> i write fanfic, and character analyses. here's my ao3, and my masterlist. i mainly have written dr. ratio analyses, brief or long, and i might write something new later on about one of my later interests, so please, keep your eyes peeled. :)

-> i am also the dungeon master to the most insane, gay, and creative people i have ever met. shoutout to my party, who includes @insomnya777 @sylsoddsandends @emmaestrella @pinkish29 @designatedlifer @skippbuttr + my management, @subcrownic. <3

mydei having a library is absolutely heartbreaking symbolism. it's a running gag that the kremnoan language doesn't have many words; there's no word for flee, no word for fear, even no word for love. i know the library was his family's, but still -- it is such a distinct symbol of how mydei wants to break kremnoan tradition. how he openly rejects the idea that violence is the only valid form of communication. how he always dismisses the baseless rumours surrounding his abilities, proving that he values truth over glory. we see mydei try to talk his people into reason. we see him apologize to tribbie for being rude. we even see him (begrudgingly) admit to phainon that he knows how to interpret poetry. time and time again, mydei chooses language -- and truth -- over violence. so when he invites phainon to visit his library in the next life, he's not just expressing hope -- he's asking phainon to remember him by what he really believes in. even if i become the avatar of strife, he's saying, even if you have to kill me one day -- in the next life, please see me as the person i've tried to become.

mydei knows the power of a name, perhaps because his language has so few of them. and that makes it doubly ironic that he personally has so many titles: son of gorgo. the patricidal crown prince. kingslayer. godslayer. the undying. but as krateros points out, the name he prefers is the one he uses with the chrysos heirs. and although mydei doesn't talk much, all his actions seem to say the same thing.

remember me as mydei, not mydeimos.

hey so what the fuck why would you stab me like this

Okay what's crazy is how simple life is like a perfect summary of Scott's playstyle throughout the life series. He starts off (and remains) very friendly. Nobody immediately dislikes him. He picks a team, sticks to it. He does this in this one. I'd say just about every team but Gem's were happy to have him around, even early reds didn't bother him. Quickly he ends up with Grian and Joel and does their shenanigans with them. The entire time he is cautious. He sets up a food source (that despite being only one session) lasts him the game. He does not risk night time. When engaging in early fights he is pulled back and ready to run. When he was bridging over the void with Grian and Joel he stays crouched, does not give himself away, and waits till he can escape. And then he inevitably outlives everyone. So now, plenty of reds, especially Jimmy and Pearl, are after him. But Scott always falls back to his own teammates, and doesn't exactly engage them too much. Then he outlives EVERYONE a bit too much, and so people are on the hunt. But Scott stays calm, collected and confident. This is important, because despite being an appealing target, he is not an easy target. Especially for people who are more likely to back down when caught sneaking up (such as Bigb and Tango) He stays pulled back enough to let a lot of the conflict pass him over. And then when he does end up getting fully hunted down, it is near the end of things, where realistically it'd be better for him to be knocked down a few. And then only when there a few remaining people, he strikes. He picks off easy kills. And when it comes down to a 1v1 is when he finally puts in some real action. In one episode, we watch Scott use every trick up his sleeve and win.
