Flower of a Poisonous Seed Part 29

Tw: domestic violence,

Part 28:

"You'll never know just how many times my heart felt so filled with love for you that my body couldn't physically contain it... and each time I feel that way, it seems my heart triples in size just to make room for more love."

"Welcome to feeling true, mutual love."

wait wait wait did macaque abuse wukong? like physically?

or is this about Azure or the brotherhood or is this like the circlet and tripitaka?

really good chapter! I'm glad mk's in therapy definitely needs it.

if I was red son I'd take a rein check on that relensionship and revisit it after a few months clearly it's not going well and some space might do them both some good

Most of the abuse was verbal and emotional abuse. Macaque was weaker than Wukong except for when Wukong was freshly postpartum. Then Macaque was more open to physical violence and aggression. He knew Wukong couldn't fight back very well.

A lot of Wukong's self-hatred over the smallest aspects of his behaviors and personality step from Macaque's abuse. Thankfully, Ao Lie did put in the work to help undo the damage and passed the metaphorical baton to Nezha.

Wukong's still healing from it, but he's come a long way and going strong thanks to the people in his life.

Anonymous asked:

Has macaque ever been home super late before, and Li Jing get very nervous over it? And when Mac gets bothered thinking he’s being overprotective, Jing just goes all “I just want to make sure you’re safe” and Mac just melts.

awww this is so cute!

I love how this story demostrates the differences in dynamics between wukong and Macaque and li jing and Macaque.

wukong and macaque were parternship they were even in the retentionship where as li jing and macaque are not equals but it acturelly serve to create a more stable retentionship somehow?

their like a cat and it's owner! techcally the owner has more power but anyone with a cat knows that the cat has about as much or even more power over everything as the owner . li jing provides everything and can pick mac up and put him anywhere he wants but it's on macaque's terms. macaque can get anthing he wants and if he doesn't want he can just leave anytime. but they both love each other and everything kinda works.

so when macaque leaves to go on walks and isn't home li jing get concerned and waits up like most cat owners will because while cat are independent they can still be hit by a car and you want to make sure there ok (also they'll wake you up to come back in anyway) and everything is fine.

but when mac was with wukong ofc wukong wasn't going to wait up one because he trust his husbean and his power and thinks he is strong enough to beat anything that could harm him and 2 wukong had a island to rule and depending on the time multiple kids to look after. he doesn't have the time nor energy to wait up for his husband everytime he goes wondering. also it's kinda a red flag in a romantic relentionship

first and foremost because your partner going out late at night coming home early morning without a good reason sounds like he's cheating (which obviously Mac is too much of a simp to consider and also who's stupid enough to fuck the great sage equal to heaven's husbean behind his back). and secondly, after they had kids mac would be leaving wukong with all the bedtime chores which I've heard is a battle on a good day with just two kids and help can't imagine with 11(? I think) and by yourself.

but going on works when macaque is with li jing is fine because macaque doesn't have any resposiablities to li jing other then basic friendship ones.

I've seen so many characters act as foils to each other. Now that I write stories, I love exploring how different relationships can act as foils to each other.

The primary foil pairs:

Wukong & Nezha / Macaque & Li Jing

Married(n't) couples foils:

Wukong & Macaque / Wukong & Ao Lie

And as you pointed out:

Macaque & Wukong / Macaque & Li Jing

Macaque and Jing are definitely a cat and owner pairing. Macaque tried to pull this with Wukong, but Wukong ain't buying into any of that. Wukong was a bit worried and did have his doubts, but Macaque's random nighttime strolls became so frequent that Wukong grew more tolerant of the wait and eventually learned to live life altogether without him.

Macaque doesn't just pull this sort of thing during the nighttime. He'd do it for hours a day, too. Being gone for 24+ hours was a rare, but not impossible circumstance.

Wukong's job as king, plus having children to raise (which, by the way, you were so close to guessing the number I had drafted for the two) made it so that Wukong ran out of shits to give in that department. He just doesn't have the time or energy.

Wukong knew he wasn't cheating, but some of their kids had speculations.

One of their sons didn't realize Macaque was his father until his late teen years. He thought that Macaque was another random monkey that liked to hang out at the palace. He thought that DBK was his father, which, given that DBK didn't have a spouse at the time and hung out with Wukong and the kids a lot, wasn't a too far out there theory.

It's not as big of a problem now that Macaque divorced Wukong, and all of the kids are grown up (at least the ones that are still alive). Jing's different from Wukong, which allows Macaque to be how he wants with minimal consequences.

This bonus chapter is one of the very few consequences but one that he's willing to work through. He never leaves without notifying Jing and telling him approximately how long he'll be gone and will update + send pictures when necessary.

Jing gave him Nezha's old phone with a new number to stay in contact. Macaque's taken a liking to taking pictures, so Jing got him a better camera.

There's now a room that acts as a photo gallery with items to make scrapbooks with.

Macaque is living his best life now.

holy shit did not realize how much of a deadbeat Macaque was! for someone to not know who their father is while their living with him when no one is trying to keep it a secret... heck to not release that your own kid doesn't know that your their dad while your living with them!

like I know cannon lmk wukong kinda also went off alone a lot and left Macaque by himself but the difference is:

A) cannon Wukong and Macaque were claerly a lot younger (at least mentally if not physically) than in your au,

B) Wukong and Macaque weren't achelly in a relationship in cannon

C) there were no kids involved.

How did 9 kids happen if macaque was so absent or is that why only have 9 kids happened?

wow that divorce was long overdue my gods!

I'm glad macque has found a relensionship that works for him. and that he has a new love of photography I just wish it didn't take centries or being a crappy father and husbean to get here.

LI JING COME NEUTER YOUR CAT

Only 9 kids after ~5,000 years of marriage, by monkey standards, is an extremely low number. Wukong and Ao Lie had more kids in less than a century of being together.

Most monkeys have one or two per mating season. The math isn't mathing with them. And yes, it is due to Macaque not being around so much.

Everyone wishes it didn't take so long for Macaque to get to this point, but they're grateful he got there in the end.

Flower of a Poisonous Seed Part 34

Part 33:

Tw: child neglect, pregnancy mention,

Nezha was taking a nap after exhausting himself with housework. Red Son volunteered to help watch over him and his uncle while the former recovered.

This was all fine and well, but Wukong was concerned with his nephew's wishing to stay at their house for the sixth day in a row.

Hey just found your au and I gotta say it’s quite interesting:

Wukong being deathly ill which leads him to opening up more and having a proper support system.

Him and MK having a falling out (something I never expected (not unwarranted, just unexpected))

The dive into Wukong and Macaque’s relationship, very interesting and very thorough (I’m a little miffed that you wrote Macaque as an abusive ex who killed most of his kids and was actually on board with the havoc (could I see him as a bad partner and a terrible parent, absolutely, but not to the extent that you wrote him and even then I could never see him being on board with the havoc for any reason (then again Macaque is my favorite character so I’m probably a bit biased (doesn’t help that I’m also a big shadowpeach shipper too))))

I also adore the fact that you headcanon Jing as a girl dad which actually makes a lot of sense for him (especially since in JTTW west he has two daughters Zhenying (who was born sometime after the Li family ascended to the celestial realm) and Diyong (Lady Earth Flow (aka the golden nosed albino rat spirit)) who is his ward and Nezha’s sworn sister.

Can’t wait to see what you come up with next

Keep up the good work 😁

Thank you!

I drew a bit on JttW canon for Macaque's backstory, and I understand some people might not like that route. At least he's getting a redemption arc!

I have been enjoying putting Wukong in a Tupperware container and shaking him violently. I will continue to do so.

So, I've asked about macaque and jing helping mk with his aggression, and seen the posts about macaque wanting/trying to apologize to his kids.

So I'm wondering, would macaque try to make a sincere, clear apology to mk for his attacks in the early seasons?

Especially if him and jing confront mk rather then mk going to them, I could TOTALLY see mk initially rejecting their attempts because of his experiences with them both, but macaque making a genuine apology being something that gets him to really consider their help.

And, if mk gives macaque a clear, genuine forgiveness, I could see that being a catalyst to give him courage to approach his own kids later.

Avatar

He definitely apologizes, but not because MK called him out or anything. He apologized well before he unintentionally moved in with Li Jing.

He apologized soon after he heard Wukong was getting surgery. That was a gut-punch of epic proportions for him and put a lot of things into perspective.

MK was hesitant to forgive him, understandably, but he did forgive him eventually.

FloaPS OC Naming!

I need help coming up with names for Wukong's kids (and maybe grandkids)!

If you have/come up with any ideas, please comment, ask, reblog, etc.!

If you can, please add the meaning(s) of the name and specify if you want the other parent to be Macaque or Ao Lie.

  • Thunder, Rain, Cloudy, Sunset, Dusk, Dawn,

Thank you!

Anonymous asked:

Does macaque go to Jing for advice over how to approach his kids?

Absolutely! He's venturing into unknown territory here, and Jing has experience (and success) in this field.

Anonymous asked:

I come back to your blog every few days to just binge read every new post you've made.

Will we ever get Mac actually talking to the kids? I want to meet the other children and see them interact with their father.

Once Wukong explains Macaque's whole situation of being brought back + manipulated + had his memories tampered with by LBD and that he's trying to improve himself. Only then will the kids be alright with being in the same room as him, let alone anywhere near the grandkids.

Macaque and Wukong had 9 kids over the course of their 5,000(ish) years of marriage. Only 4 of them are still alive: three sons and a daughter.

Macaque will eventually talk to them, but each child has a different personality and level of trauma that relates back to him. The results will depend on the kid.

I know I've been calling them kids, but they're all adults and a minimum of three centuries older than Red Son.

Not really a question, but I am becoming ILL thinking about mk's possible characterization!

Like, it's cannon that he enjoys fighting, but hates the idea of really hurting anyone he cares about, which creates a chaotic dichotomy, which just leans into his fears about being the harbinger.

Then you throw in the growing aggression he has in FloaPS, which would be his fears coming true, which leads to more panic and anxiety, which leads to more aggression... THE SPIRAL IS SPIRALING!

(Sorry to keep posting about mk in a wukong focused story, but that's my boi!)
