Thinking of the expedition crew of the Marsh Ribs. Thinking of them the night before even entering. Camping in the marsh, under the ribs, a gigantiuan structure towering above them. Blocking the stars out like someone used an eraser to make streaks through the night sky.
Thinking of the chattering, exited, and nervous. People sharing food and drink, asking their group leaders about places they've been. They'd pull over The Cartographer, their expedition organizer, and ask about the places she's mapped.
"Every Odd from here to Hopesend-" she'd eventually boast. "Soon i'll reach the coast, and then? The world. If you do well- well maybe I'll take you with me."
And they'd believe her.
