This is my headcanon on what happened if Dan visited Tommy and cowrote the script for his part of the show

Dan: wouldn’t it be funny if I said I hate Phil

Tommy: sure mate whatever you want

Dan: it’s totally true tho

Tommy: ok ..

Dan: actually let me call him

5 hours later

Phil: don’t you think you should get back to Tommy and finish writing your script? Go ahead hang up

Dan: no you hang up *giggle*

Phil hates being the one in control because he is much more comfortable just following along and he trusts Dan to make the decisions for him
