CLARE. FANDOM AUNT. AUS. 30s. DARK ANGEL. SPN. MCU. HP. 1D (Larrie). A BUNCH OF OTHER FANDOMS. SHITPOSTING. FIC WRITING/TALK. HISTORY & ART. AO3 (as clare328) (Will not follow back if you are under 18 soz)

Ok new pinned post for whatever post-Twitter life might look like.

In the tags are my fandoms- not active fandoms, just fandoms that I consider near and dear to my heart. I am likely to post content related to any of those fandoms, but I should clarify: don’t follow me if you think I’m going to post lots about one specific fandom (cough 1D cough). I won’t, unless something absolutely mind-blowingly major happens (they get back together or the bears come back- that’s the entire list). (The same goes for spn unless Sep finally finishes Game Of God and then I won’t shut up).

This blog has always been and always will be an absolute shitshow of a mixed bag of memes, shitposting, and various fandom ephemera, so if that’s what you’d like, stick around. I have been here a long time and it shows. Also, I will not tag my shit in any organised way (except for spoilers within about a fortnight of something coming out) so don’t ask me to. I’m too adhd for that shit, sorry.

Fic is on ao3- link in bio.

the people on reddit being confused about this is so funny because I Get It. still, it bears discussing:

  • dune and wicked being at the top does make sense since they're previously established fandoms, and a lot of those are probably just tagging the new movies as well. also, gelphie is gelphie.
  • conclave having 200+ works is not surprising. the only thing surprising is that it only has 200+ works. honestly, i expected more. one person on reddit was like 'well yeah, nuns are a staple of horny fiction!' and everyone else was like 'honey...'.
  • substance and anora with about 40 is about what i expected, they're not the most fanfic-inspiring types of movie, tho i can imagine some cute ani/igor or wacky substance hijinks.
  • the brutalist having 15 is wild because if you've seen the movie you can probably imagine what kind of fics they are. equal parts concerning and totally understandable. there aren't more because not everyone can commit to writing smut for a 3hr30 slow american epic.
  • a complete unknown is weird because you'd think people would be all over RPFing bob dylan, but maybe that all falls in another tag. nobody saw ACU is more like it.
  • none for ISH, nickel boys, and emilia perez makes sense. though i'm surprised there are no EP shitpost fics at all. hello very nice to meet you i'd like to know about fanfic publication. i see i see i see. male on female? female on male? male on male. from yuri to yaoiiii.

HELLO VERY NICE TO MEET YOU ID LIKE TO KNOW ABOUT FANFIC PUBLICATIONSSSSSS I SEE I SEE I SEEEEEEEEE. MALE ON FEMALE? ON FEMALE ON MALE? MALE ON MALE? FROM YURI TO YAOIIIIII,ARE YOU GOING TO READ IT.ME READ IT? NO...

It really is crazy how if you mention you write fanfiction with people outside fandom, they're always like "you should change the names and try to sell it." It misses the point (fun), but more importantly to me, I get slightly (and I know irrationally) insulted on a craft level. Excuse me, my fanfic is entwined with the canon, thank you very much. I wish sometimes less entwined. You wouldn't believe the stupid bullshit some of my fics have to include because of canon.

ok so two things could happen here

  1. misha and jensen have crazy chemistry on the boys and i am inducted into the community of real person fact re: cockles
  2. misha and jensen have NO chemistry (this one is funnier to me) therefore proving that dean winchester in charge of the jensen vessel was personally lusting after that gay angel proving that dean was played romantically interested in cas SPECIFICALLY for the show and vice versa aka this is how destiel can go canon again

Does anyone else get a little excited when you're reading and come across a word you don't know and you get to look it up and add it to your vocabulary pile? weehoo! a little treat for me, a little exotic snack

writing historical fic set in real places is so scary. what if someone who knows more about Philadelphia's timeline to move from gas to electric streetlamps reads my fanfiction and laughs at me

in my head the star wars equivalent of tswift is some human woman named tay’lor spiff or something and her stans are losing their minds over theories that she’s secretly a jedi singing about the horrors of war, even though she’s from a neutral system that hasn’t seen so much as a moral panic in 50 years

the theories get even more egregious during the imperial era, with people straight up thinking she joined the rebellion in secret and is loading her songs with subliminal rebel propaganda. their main piece of evidence for this is if you play a certain song backwards, it sounds like she’s saying “freedom” in shyriiwook. the fans get really defensive if you point out she’s performed at the yearly empire day celebration thrice now and her family historically owned ewok slaves

i regret to inform both you beautiful people that this isn’t going to go how you think it will

spiff fans (also known as “spiffies”) insist that the two decommissioned venator-class destroyers spiff purchased, the bad blood and the reputation, are for diplomatic purposes that benefit the rebellion. jedi’lors have concocted theories that she served on both ships during the clone wars and was respectful of every clone that served there, despite her courtship of a gravball player that thrice advocated against the clone veterans being granted natural citizenship

all goofing aside I don't understand the urge to reimagine Tay'lor Allisoarn Spiff as a secret Jedi fighting for the rebellion when the rebel alliance is literally like overflowing with women fighting the empire. Gara and Ke'Cha and Mileu and Halcey are right there. like what are we doing here. like I'm not even saying you can't like Taylor but why would you hang all your hopes of taking down the empire on her

Isn't Lady Gara a force sensitive?

🪐chirodactylmanisagatewaydrug Follow

Hence why I put her in the list of famous force using women who are in the rebel alliance?

(okay ignore the fact I've put an image in here but this is ops icon)

#im sure op has this post muted by now but Ur icon is so real op

The icon is because of this post

👤Eelinrmalice-deactivated201X023

btw to just clarify for anyone who sees this reblog of this post

op is basically saying something along the lines of "yea ik tay'lor spiff is a jedi but like. why is she y'all's only force using rebel icon when there are all these other force users in the rebellion???"

i might have worded this badly but hopefully i got the main point across

🪐chirodactylmanisagatewaydrug Follow

Hi OP here I most CERTAINLY DID NOT SAY TAY'LOR SPIFF IS A JEDI???

(based on this post)

you wouldn't believe who showed up in today's Jango Fett comic issue

(Jango Fett #4 by Ethan Sacks and Luke Ross)

[ID: A video clip showing a Black person in a green coat interviewing an elderly white person holding up a flag, with more protesters in the background displaying Palestinian flags. The interviewer asks, "Why is it important for you to be here today?" The protester responds, "Well, uh, I'm Jewish, I'm Israeli, my parents were the only survivors of their families from the Holocaust. They both survived Auschwitz. I'm not going to support genocide am I? "I'm here with the Palestinians, and we are here with Palestine, because we don't believe that what the British government is doing is correct. The British government is supporting this genocide! It's arming Israel, it's financing Israel. "BBC and the other media here is supporting genocide. This is illegal. This is immoral. We don't agree with it, we will never agree with it, and as Jews -- and myself as Israeli -- I am totally against it, and we will continue to be against it. There are now more than 60 such events in the whole of Britain, uh, people don't want to support this. They are against this government on so many other issues, but especially on this one." Another elderly white protester next to the first joins in, leaning forward to add: "And, also, this didn't start on October the 7th. In 1948, Palestinian villages, hundreds of them --" Another elderly protester interjects specifically, "500 of them". The second protestor nods and continues, "were demolished, thousands of Palestinians, innocent men, women, and children were slaughtered, and seven-hundred and fifty thousand Palestinian refugees were created. That's when it started, and it hasn't stopped since!" End ID.]

I wish there were medieval fantasy written by people who actually found the medieval period interesting

I don’t mean grittiness I mean like anthropologically. The medieval period was fucking weird and the people who lived through it had fundamentally different perspectives on how the world works than even very religious modern people, reading a medieval fantasy shouldn’t feel like I’m just reading a contemporary person running around with a sword.
