Thinking about xcom 2 Speaker makes me go absolutely feral
...not in a way I'd imagine, though.
See here, I have this cute little headcanon for EU/EW, where xcom captures a thin man to interrogate and... Kinda let him live afterwards. He's interested in humans as a species, and in exchange for 'letting him learn more' he helps with the translation stuff when xcom encounters other aliens. Commander seems to become really close with him, they give him a name - Victor, by the way, like a famous anthropologist - and, ultimately, they pretty much have an adopted alien son now lol.
Now, forget all that, because xcom 2 happened and stole all those bonds right from the Commander's nose. Get heartbroken over simulation they ran on you, idiot. But what's this? Who's that Speaker of theirs? Why does his speech sound so familiar, why does the Commander remember those dark scales on his neck...
It's him. Her little Victor - or rather, a cruel, crooked version of him in this grim reality. A son she never had, and looks like never will.
Now, the question is, do I allow Commander to stew in that delicious angst, or do we grow a pair and somehow steal that bad boy for ourselves some time during the whole plot?
Option one is painful in all the right ways, but the second one is so JUICY. Imagine taming that absolute BRAT of an alien, imagine having a sweet, curious child in EU and a moody unruly teen in xcom 2, oh I NEED that.
